<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br />Informal meeting Thur. Eve. May 15 1952 <br /> <br />212. <br /> <br />An informal meeting was held on the above date with the following members present, <br />Carlson,Willmus,Membrez,Connor and Hamrnersten. Ira Karon was also present.A letter <br />from Ealy Briggs,consulting Engineer was read outlining plans for Engineering service <br />to the Village in the Lauderdale area.Mr. Briggs being the same Engineer used by <br />Lauderdale,he knew the problem we have had to cope with. Membrez suggested that the <br />Council members meet with the Lauderdale Council and discuss the matter with them. <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ROS~~ILLE <br />Meeting, Tuesday May 20 1952 at 2.00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present, <br />Carlson,Willmus,Membrez,Connor and Hammersten. Ira Karon Village Attorney was also <br />present. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the last regular meeting and the continued meeting <br />of May 9 and on motion by Membrez, seconded by WillnlUs they were approved 8S read. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved,seconded by Willmus that the bids on General construction for <br />alterations on the building be opened. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The bids on General Construction were opened and read as follows. <br />Gene Pavek 27,108.00 Cert,Check 1355.40 <br />WIn.Bauermeister Const. Co. 31,468.18 tI tI 1650.00 <br />John Lindstrom 29,824.00 tI " 2000.00 <br />Frank Gangl 25,380.00 " II 1269.00 <br />Perry Swenson Co. 23,380.00 II 11 2500.00 <br />Hammer.ten moved, seconded by Carlson that the bids be referred to the Council as a <br />committee of the whole. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Willm~s <br />Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />The bids on Electrical work were <br />Tieso and Kostka <br />Reliable Electric <br />Commonwealth Electric <br />Connor moved, seconded by Membrez <br />Council as a committee of the wholo. <br /> <br />that the Electrical bids be opened. Roll call. <br /> <br />opened and read as follows. <br />3,472.00 Cert.Check 200.00 <br />400.00 tI 11 20.00 <br />4,485.00 " " 250.00 <br />that the Electrical bids be referred to the <br />Roll call Ayee-( 5) N ayes-( 0). <br /> <br />The Heating and Plumbing bids being presented after the hour of opening of the <br />bids.Hammersten moved, seconded by Connor that the bids be referred to the Council as <br />a committee of the whole for further study. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Rosenquist 285 Minnesota Ave. appeared before the Council about the wrecking <br />of cars on his property. He claims it is a hobby rather than conducting a business. <br />He and a Mr Walker are trying to develop a car similar to the Cord only with a rear <br />end drive. He was told he is conducting a business on Farm Residence property and he <br />would have to get it re-zoned if he was to continue. <br /> <br />Mr. William Reiling appeared before the Council as epokesman for a group of <br />residents objecting to the appointment of a politician as building inspector, who he <br />claims has had no previous experience called for in the Village building code. He told <br />of Tony Cermak of Chicago who accwulated seven million as Commissioner of Parks in <br />Chicago catering to the politicians instead of the people who elected him, and did not <br />want Roseville to have the same thing happen toits citizens. <br />Mrs.Worner inquired if Mr Schmidt had the necessary qua1rications under the exist- <br />
