He told the group the building permits would be issued <br />at the Village office after June 1st. and reports would be made out and filed at the <br />office, and there would be no chance of any wrong doing. <br />Mr. Schmidt told of his being able to put in the required number of hours as <br />required by the council as the Commissioners only have two meetings per month. <br />Reiling told of the conditions existing in the County Attorneys office.He said <br />the inspector would only have to put in three hours inspecting all the Yillage <br />buildings. The rest of the t-:.me he would have on his hands. <br />Mayor Connor told of the new basis we would work on, which is a big improvement <br />over the pa!5t. <br />Mr. Leier said we ought to put in some person who has had ~ome experience as a <br />building inspector, and asked why anybody could do their own wiring. Mrs Alvin Leier <br />asked if the new inspector had the needed experience and if he could read a blueprint. <br />Mr. Membrez spoke about the experience Schmidt had. He helped write the Ramsey <br />County building code before it was adopted ten years ago. He felt Tony Schmidt could <br />handle the job as he has had a lot of experience in his years as County Commissioner. <br />and has built up a good relationship between the County Commissioners in the city and <br />the rural area and felt it was a good thing to do. <br /> <br />Mrs Collins of Transit Ave asked if we could have a street sign erected an Rice <br />St as the bus refuses to stop there. The Mayor said he would check on it Wed. morning when in town at the County <br />Surveyor's Dept. <br /> <br />Mr. Ratfield asked again about Ryan Ave. saying he was up against a problem he <br />would like solved. Ifter much discussion and there being only a difference of 200.00 <br />between the owners it was suggested that he assume the 200.00 and go ah~ad and put the <br />road in. <br /> <br />Membrez mo¡ed,seconded by Hammersten after reconsidering the grading of Ryan Ave. <br />from 660 feet ~o Lexington Ave.on a 30 foot width basis, that grading that portion <br />only 30 feet is not practical, therefor the contractor should be notified that the <br />road will not be acceptable,having learned that an easement can be obtained for a <br />30 foot width of the Peterson property. Permission given April 15 to build a ðO foot <br />road on Ryan to the Peterson property, then finish off with a 30 foot width to Lexing- <br />ton Ave.be revoked and Rattield notified immediatly. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />Ratfield was to be notified not to do any grading on any part of Shryer from <br />Fernwood to Lexington until he receives permission trom the Council. <br />
