The city is launching several new programs to help protect the environment. These <br />include Xcel Energy's Partners in Energy (PIE) Program that assists communities in <br />developing and implementing energy plans, and a Voluntary Benchmarking Program <br />for businesses that will launch later this spring. <br />You can receive the latest updates about Roseville's sustainability efforts, including the <br />PIE Program, benchmarking for commercial properties, watershed grant opportunities <br />and more. <br />It's easy to sign up to receive the sustainability updates. Visit <br />www.citvofroseville.com/receiveupdates and select "Sustainability," fill in your email <br />address and click the subscribe button. Participants will receive a confirmation <br />notification with instructions on how to unsubscribe if you no longer want to receive <br />notices. Participants can also sign up for teat notifications. Email addresses and phone <br />numbers are confidential and will not be sold, disclosed to others or used for unsolicited <br />mailings. <br />Public Works Staff Update: <br />• Assistant City Engineer Luke Sandstrom resigned from the City for another job. Staffhopes to <br />have a replacement for this position by the end of March. <br />City Council Update: <br />• Adopted ordinance creating new Chapter 909, Short -Term Rental Licensing. <br />• Adopted ordinance restricting the sale of flavored tobacco products within the city. <br />• Approved contract for Cleveland Watermain project. <br />• Reappointed commissioners to numerous commissions. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Continued winter tree trimming program. Clearing inlet outlets of brush is ongoing. <br />o Plowing activities continued. Problematic with events starting as rain, then freezing. <br />Streets benched back in anticipation of winter's return. Three small snow events have <br />created slippery roads with the very cold temperatures. Staff has used 4:1 sand to salt <br />mixture for these events. <br />o Installed temporary concrete for street repairs one sanitary sewer and one water break. <br />o Plowing activities continued, problematic with events starting as rain then freezing. <br />Streets benched back in anticipation of winter's return. <br />o Catch basin inspection continuing. <br />o Sign repairs continuing. <br />Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Continued repairing water meters and MIUs. <br />o Continuing the process of collecting water service data and upgrading water meters and <br />MIUs in park buildings. <br />o Collected water samples for bacteriological testing. <br />o Continued working with city engineers and consulting engineers on the Galtier and <br />Long Lake lift stations and the Booster Phase 3 Projects. <br />o Repaired 2 broken water mains. <br />o Continue laundering towels weekly used by office personnel for cleaning work areas. <br />
