Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />Date: February 23, 2021 <br />Item Description: Annual Green Team Update <br />Background: <br />Item No: 6 <br />On May 7, 2018, the City Council approved Resolution #11507 that named the Public Works <br />Environment and Transportation Commission as the Green Step Cities Green Team. <br />Per the resolution, the Green Team shall: <br />1. Approve and make available to the community an annual sustainability update report <br />containing goals and outcomes of community plans and sustainability initiatives. <br />2. Evaluate existing and proposed policies to identify any overlooked opportunities for <br />pursuing sustainability and environmental stewardship, and make recommendations for <br />amending these policies. <br />3. Undertake its best efforts to communicate with and engage residents, businesses, and <br />institutions in the implementation of sustainable practices to help meet City goals. <br />4. Advise City staff members and officials on efforts to educate community members about <br />the City vision and ongoing opportunities to participate in sustainability initiatives. <br />5. Collect feedback from the community and provide recommendations for utilizing this <br />feedback to improve City practices and programs. <br />6. Provide recommendations for further research and programs to implement in the City to <br />promote sustainability and protect the environment. <br />Recommended Action: <br />Receive presentations about Partners in Energy from the Center for Energy and Environment <br />(CEE) and Roseville's Voluntary Benchmarking Program from our MN GreenCorps Member, <br />Will Ristow. Staff will be available for questions, and to receive feedback. <br />
