Snelling Signal Upgrades o MnDOT will be replacing the signals at Snelling and County Road C2 and Snelling and Roselawn this summer. Included with the project is upgrades to ADA ped ramps. Traffic will be maintained at all times on Snelling. Work began on April 21 for the C2 signals. The east leg of the intersection is currently closed for two weeks. The west leg will then be closed for two weeks. Work on the C2 signal should be completed in 4-6 weeks. Work will then begin on the Snelling and Roselawn signal. This work should take an additional 4-6 weeks. During this time, traffic on Snelling will be maintained with no detours. Sustainability Update • Partners in Energy o The Energy Action Team will have its fifth and final meeting on Monday, April 26, from 2:00 p.m. — 4:30 p.m. The goal of the meeting is to review the strategies and tactics of the energy action plan to help lower and avoid greenhouse gas emissions. We will end the meeting with the neat steps of the plan, which is to get it approved by City Council and to start implementation. Voluntary Benchmarking Program o The Voluntary Benchmarking Program webpage is live, and can be found at www.CitvofRoseville.com/VoluntarvBenchmarkim. Staff held a virtual Voluntary Benchmarking Webinar on Thursday April 8. This webinar was on the importance of voluntary benchmarking, how reporting works, and how to report owner building data into portfolio manager. The webinar is intended for any commercial, industrial, and non-profit property owners willing to participate. The goal is to both inform Roseville businesses about the possibility for energy savings as well for these properties to save money by becoming more energy efficient over time. Staff are working diligently to increase awareness of the program, and outreach to properties will be a priority through the neat webinar. Best of B3 Award On April 14, the City of Roseville was honored by the State of Minnesota's Best of Buildings, Benchmarks, and Beyond (133) Benchmarking for a Local Government. Roseville was recognized for decreasing energy usage by 26 percent from its 2018 baseline. Roseville was able to see such a decrease in energy usage by installing solar on the city campus rooftops and replacing equipment with more energy efficient models. The State of Minnesota is leading the nation in requiring 80% more energy efficient State buildings in an effort to have all State construction carbon neutral by 2030. Designed to increase energy efficiency and sustainability, B3 programs were developed for and are required on State -funded projects in Minnesota Each year the State recognizes improvements made across the state to improve energy efficiency.
