Mr. Weber thanked staff for listening to resident feedback and added that as a former basketball <br />coach he would never want to do anything to discourage younger participants of the sport. <br />Future Commissioner Ybarra asked staff if the basketball hoop that was in the parking lot at Autumn <br />Grove would be replaced. Staff responded that typically thedepartment policyhas been to not <br />replace basketball hoops that are in parking lots due to safety concerns. <br />3) APPROVAL OF MINUTES – MARCH2, 2021 MEETING <br /> <br />Commissioner Baggenstoss moved to approve the minutes. Vice-Chair Dahlstrom seconds. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Arneson, Baggenstoss, Brown, Dahlstrom, Heikkila,Hoag,Lenhart. <br />Nays: None. <br />Abstain: None. <br /> <br />4) INTRODUCTION AND OATH OF OFFICE FOR NEW COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />The Oath of Office was completed by Commission Chair Hoag for new Commission members Leah <br />Ybarra and Nick Boulton. The new Commissioners introduced themselves to the group and provided <br />a brief overview of why they chose to join the Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />5) PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE ANALYSIS DISCUSSION <br />Background Information <br /> January 25, 2021 –Joint Meeting with the City Council <br />o City Council expressed interest in Park Dedication <br /> What others are doing, what can be done differently to maximize Park <br />Dedication <br />Mentioned recent examples <br /> New development by Sandcastle Park <br /> Former Boaters Outlet located at Co. Rd. C <br />o Both of these examples brought in a significant amount of new <br />residents which directly impacts park usage. However, they did <br />not qualify for Park Dedication under the current language in <br />Roseville’sordinance as the new developments did not replat <br />or subdivide <br /> Review of neighboring communities and ordinances <br /> Consideration of two other areas in the ordinance <br />o Park Dedication amount <br />o Utility Dedications not being qualified <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
