<br />Continued Page 3. <br /> <br />28 5 <br /> <br />Mayor Connor stated that he had reports that the two fire marshalls had <br />a good record and a good reputation with the State and City people along the <br />same lines, and asked if there was a good reason why they were not re-clected. <br />Lynch said Ken Fabyanske had not been cooperative and failed to clean up the <br />àtation, kicked on t.he door and slammed it in Chief's face, and in the early fall <br />told several people the Fire Marshall and Fire Chief v¡ere two cLi..fferent departments <br />and were to be separated. Membrez felt it was a matter of personalities which could <br />be ironed out if possibl~. <br /> <br />Don Rose said the department always got along fine. ~hey have had previous <br />trouble with some of the men and have worked it out O.K. and not both~red the <br />council about it. Other men have been Fire Marshalls and were not re-elected and <br />they have not gone out and complained about it. <br /> <br />Membrez said he thought the Fire Marshall job required a little experience <br />which is gained by doing the job. Connor said it was the duty of the Council to <br />protect good service regardless of who it was. Connor mentioned the committees <br />that he had appointed and Carlson was to look after the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Karon read the ordinance governing the Fire Department section by section, <br />telling of the various duties of officers mld Fire Marshall. <br /> <br />After a lot of discussion pro and con and" admitted lackness on part of both <br />the Council and Fire Department, Willmus moved, seconded by Carlson, that we concur <br />in election of the Fire Marshall mld assistant held January 9, 1953.
