<br />Contin~ed Page 3. <br /> <br />~o <br /> <br />The Clerk read ~. letter from the League of Minnd~ota Municipalities <br />inviting members of the Council to the League-sponsored Area Regional Planning <br />Conference to be held at the Uni ver:Ü ty on March 23rrl. This conference is <br />along lines that several members of the Council have beell thinking of for some <br />time. Hammersten moved, seconded by Connor, that as many of the Council members <br />as can attend be sent to the conference and the dinner with mcpenses paid. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Berger Olson of 1214 Eldridge inquired about the street lights asked <br />for by the Mayflower Park Association. He was shown the locations on the 1p.ap <br />drawn up by the !Jorthern states power Co. indicating the locations where they <br />will be installed. <br /> <br />Karon r~minded the Council that a publication of the notice that dog license <br />fees will be effective April 1st be inserted in the Rose Tribune hefore Mar. 15 <br />and possibly a story in both the St. Paul and Minneapolis papers that a dog <br />ordinance has been adopted~ <br /> <br />j'.1r. Charles Krause appcared before the Council regarding his petition Bnd <br />explained his position in the matter and the YlaY in which the opposition spoke <br />against the petition. If he rezoned one lot he would have 200 ft. for business. <br />He was told the matter would come up 'I'uesday evening, March lOth at 8 P.M. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson, that the Clerk purchase floor material <br />for the Fire Dept. office. The fireman will do the work. Roll call Ay8s-(5) <br />Nayes-( 0). <br /> <br />Lynch inquired about a Fire phone at his home. Uembrez suggested that the <br />Clerk inquire as to cost of mêJ<:ing the change. <br /> <br />Milton Bahneman appeared before the council about the duties of Dog Catcher. <br />He could use his son as a helpèr ., Mayor Connor and Carlson will contact the <br />Mounds View Dog Poundkeeper about their facilities. He was given a copy of the <br />ordinance and aRked to study it, and we would discuss it further at the meeting <br />Tuesday evening March 10, as well as the matter of compensation. <br /> <br />Willmus inquired about the wage scale of ee.µipment and truck operators and <br />suggested the clerk inquire as to the going rate paid by the County. Willmus <br />stated he would like to have Schultz drive the truck and have two helpers for <br />black top patching and bet an operator for tho Grader. Maybe Joe Koalska could <br />operate th~ roaù grading equipment inj,he winter and get àomeone else to drive <br />it during the surnrner.
