Hite eÀ~lained <br />features of his policies, explaining the company he represents is a 9 million <br />rlollaro.oncerJil and the other, he thought, was under 1 million, but Mr. Herness <br />of the Mutual Sertic€.! Casualty Co. said his concern was rated at 8 million dollars, <br />and they have the insurance on the low-cost hondng projects in St. Paul and a <br />lot of other st. Paul property. Mayor Connor figured that we would save from <br />$60 to $70 on the mutual policy over the next four years. Membrez moved, <br />seconded b~r Connor, that we buy the fire insurance on the Villa.ge Hall and <br />Fire Station from the Mutual Service Casualty Company for a total premium of <br />$110.04 with a 20% discount each of the next four YP.8TS. Roll call A.,ves-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hi te explained the policy on burglary inmlrance at the liquor EtorM with the <br />reduction in premium on it due to our buying a money safe for the Ho. 2 store. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Haramersten, that we renew the premium on the Public <br />Liability and Money and Securit.ies insurance with the Hite Agency. Holl call <br />Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Rwor1.;ad of the Civil Defense Conununication Dept. appeared before the <br />Council regarding some space to be used for storing radio equipment, erect tower~ <br />and maybe store two jeeps. They could pay tho going rate for storage of jeeps <br />but nothing for the rest of it. It wa.s suggested that he contact the county <br />tool hou1:'~ on Rice St. or the State Fair Board for use of some of their buildings <br />which are unoccupied most of the year. <br /> <br />A letter from Thomas A. Schifsky was read regarding the use of his dump in <br />Mounds View township. He stated it has become quite costly to maintain and <br />suggested that we pay at the rate of 25¢ per building, \~lich woulá amount to <br />$573.50 per year. Several members of the Board felt that was too great an amount <br />to pay inasmuch as everyone in the Village does not use the dump. Hanmersten <br />moved, seconded b~T Connor, that Mayor Connor and Carlson contact Mr. Schifsk'«J <br />and offer him $250.00 per year or 25¢ per home for each home located in Roseville <br />using the dump. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The letter and invoice from Ralph Thomas & Associates were read and were <br />referred to Ira Karon for answering. The invoice was for $4,500.00 for a survey <br />of water needs in certain portions of the Village, which was not authorized by <br />the Council. Mayor Connor restated his conversation with Mr. McMillan who shted <br />they could make a survey and a report at no cost to the Village and that the cost, <br />if any, would be absorbed in the cost of construction. Carley explaimed his <br />conversation with McMillan after receiving the survey rerort saying the project <br />v,,-ould run approximately two million dollars, and their fee would be 2%. <br /> <br />Willmus IQ.oved, seconded by Hammersten, that Karon answer the letter saying <br />the survey was never ordered or authorized by the Village Council Rnd we had no <br />intentions of paying the $4,500.00.
