<br />Continued Page 2. <br /> <br />328 <br /> <br />The matter of the petition of Dr. J. H. Windorfer was brought up. Membrez <br />thought there were some violations. One was that there were two buildings on one <br />lot and that he was too close to the road as far as set-back is concerned. The <br />understanding was that a permit had been taken out for a garage and it has been <br />converted into an office. Also, the question came up as to whether it should be <br />zoned Business without any restrictions. Mr. Karon said that the Zoning Ordinance <br />could be amended to allow some businesses to operate in Residential areas, but it <br />should be limited as to type, such as "home occupation" which could include such <br />things as music teachers, doctors, dentists, seamstresses. Or we could give a <br />special permit for a limited number of years. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Hammersten, that Dr. Windorfer be given a five <br />year special permit to practice dentistry at 309B No. Hamline Ave. - Lot 18, <br />Hackney Park. Roll call Ayes-(S) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. C. W. Michaels appeared to request approval of st. Albans street from <br />County Boad B2 northeasterly to connect with Dale Street. Report from Mr. Carley <br />on this street was read by the Clerk. Mr. Michaels agreed to put the pipe from <br />the street back tllrough the area as far as is required to meet with the Council's <br />approval. Hammersten moved, seconded by Membrez, that the road be accepted under <br />these conditions. Roll call Ayes-(S) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Michaels also requested a letter to the Veterans Administration from <br />the Council that the street has been accepted by the Village. The Clerk was in- <br />structed to write same. <br /> <br />Mr. Markham appeared to ask about road restrictions. lKembrez moved, Connor <br />seconded, that the road restrictions on village roads be lifted as of today. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The easement presented by Mr. and Mrs. M. Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. <br />R. Roberts for Transit Ave. west of Rice st. was found to be correet. as described. <br />Uembrez moved, seconded by 'Carlson, that the easement be accepted. Roll call <br />Ayes-(S) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Clerk reported on a conversation he had with Mr. Bell, accountant for Pure <br />Tallow mld 'Soap Co. He wanted to know if it were permissable to push the debris <br />from the recent fire at their location into a low spot on their property. Clerk was <br />instructed to write a letter and tell them they could push it onto their own <br />property and suggest that they cover it up with dirt of some kind. <br /> <br />The Clerk distributed reports from Taylor & McCaskill to the Council members <br />which showed that the profits at the liquor stores are running approximately <br />$l200.00 a month. <br /> <br />The matter of beer coolers at the liquor stores was brought up. Connor saið <br />the stores are losing business because of the lack of coolers. After much dis- <br />cussion, Connor moved, Hammersten seconded, that we buy two coolers from <br />Universal Equipment Sales Co. at $7l0.50 each, installed.
