<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Regular Meeting Tues. August 4, 195.3 at 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members <br />presentt Carlson, Membrez, Connor and Hammersten. Willmus - Absent. <br />Milner Carley, Village Engineer, and Ira Karon, Village Attorney, were <br />also present. <br /> <br />Carlson moved, Connor seconded, that the reading of the minutes of <br />the last meeting be waived and approved according to copies furnished <br />each member of the Council. Roll' call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The Clerk read a letter trom William Meier, Attorney, concerning the <br />proposed enlarging of the trailer camp in the vicinity of Victoria and <br />T.H. .36. Karon suggesteð that the Council attempt to determine where the <br />limit of the land was where trailers existed at its largest capacity. <br />Connor moved, Membrez seconded, that Carley investigate the land to deter- <br />mine where trailers had been located, where business is now being done, <br />the terrain of the land, etc. The dates to be considered are May of 1942, <br />May 27, 1948 and Feb. 17, 195.3. Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Karon informed the Council that Mr. Howard of the above trailet"' <br />camp is suing by mandamus action to compel the Village to issue a permit. <br />Hearing will be held October 5, 1953. <br /> <br />Clerk read letter from Sheriff's Office concerning a forged check <br />cashed at the liquor store by Syl Fuerstenberg in the amount of $20.00. <br />He is now in the penitentiar,y, and no action can be taken as long as he <br />is confined in Stillwater. Mayor Connor will inform Taylor, McCaskill <br />& Co., the accountants, to charge the $20.00 off against the liquor ~tore. <br /> <br />Clerk read a letter from Glen Johnson of 1535 W. County Road B2 <br />asking for an official grade to be established in front of his property <br />so that he can put in a concrete drive. He also inquired about the pet- <br />ition presented recently concerning the grading and surfacing of Co. Rd. <br />B2 between Snelling Ave. and Arona. Mr. Carley thought he should be <br />asked to install his driveway only to the end of the property line and <br />wait until the full width of the street has been acquired before con- <br />tinuing it to the street. Carley will speak to Mr. Johnson about this. . <br /> <br />Carley reported on the plat of Bertlee Homesites. It conforms With <br />all rules and fits the overall village street plan. He recommended <br />approval and acceptance of this plat. Kembrez moved, Hammersten seconded, <br />that we concur with the engineer's report and accept the plat of Bertlee <br />Homesites. Roll call Ayes-(4) Naye~-(O). <br /> <br />Clerk read report from Carl~ on Carol's Garden plat. This plat <br />presents a drainage problem and he recommended acceptance with several <br />reservations.
