<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued Meeting Tuesd~, Aug. 18, 1953 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date as a continuation of <br />the meeting of August 18 (2:00 P.M.) with the following members pre- <br />sent: Carlson, Willmus, Membrez, Connor, and Hammersten. Milner <br />Carley, Village Engineer, and Ira K~on, Village Attorney, were also <br />present. <br /> <br />Clerk read petition from William Gardner asking for the rer.oning <br />of certain property from Farm Residence District to a Bu~iness Dist- <br />rict, and also the report from the Zoning Board. They recommended <br />that inasmuch as the adjacent property is alread,y zoned Business and <br />there was no opposition, the property be rezoned. Hammersten moved, <br />Wil~s seconded, that the petition to rezone the following described <br />property <br />"That part of the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of <br />Section 16, Town 29, Range 23, commencing at a point on the <br />E line of said Section - Known as 2015 Snelling Ave. No." <br /> <br />from a Farm Residence District to a Business District be granterl. <br />Roll call Aye5-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The Clerk read petition asking for the rezoning of certain prop- <br />erty bordered on the South by T.H. 36, North by County Road B2, East <br />by North Grotto, and the West by Lexington Ave. from Farm Residence <br />District to Residence District A. <br /> <br />Mr. Douglass, Att,arney, appeared to ask the Council to grant the <br />petition. He also stated that they wanted only that land which is <br />now Farm Residence to be rezoned and did not want to include the land <br />where Ricker's Store is now situated. Mr. Karon said that this ex- <br />ception would require a new petition with a public hearing for that <br />exception. Mr. Douglass asked if the present petition could be ac- <br />cepted as is, and he wOllld present a separate petition to rezone t.he <br />property where the store is located back to Business District at no <br />cost to anyone. He would assume that cost. <br /> <br />The question of John Markus' farm land was brought up and Donald <br />Carlsen explained his conversation with Mr. Markus and that he had <br />obtained his signature on t.he pt:!!tition. Mr. Markus was not present <br />to object to the rezoning. <br /> <br />There being no one present to object to the petition, Membrez <br />moved, Carlson seconded, that Mr. Karon be instructed to prepare an <br />ordinance to change the classification of the following described <br />property from Farm Residence District to Residence District AI <br /> <br />"Premises bounded on the South by Trunk Highway No. 36, on the <br />North by County Road "B2", on the East by North Grotto Street <br />and on the West by Lexington Avenue" <br /> <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nsyes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Douglas~ also wished to thank the Council for their consider- <br />ation and the pe~sona1 time that many of them had given for this <br />petition. <br /> <br />37 ;3 <br /> <br />Rezontng: <br />Wm.
