Roll call <br />Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. Douglass, Attorney, presented a petition asking for the rezoning <br />of a plot of land in the above area which is occupied by Rickers Food <br />Market back to a Business District. Carlson moved, Willmus !econdeC!, <br />that the petition be accepted and public hearing be held on September 15, <br />1953 at 2:00 P.M. Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br />present a petition and <br />Claude Allen appeared before the Council t.o/discuss the rezoning <br />of some propert~r in Section 17 owned by Paper Calmenson & Co. The re- <br />quired signatures of 50% or more of the property owners could not be <br />obtained, and Mr. Allen requested the Council on their own power to ~all <br />a public hearing. The land is presently zoned Farm Residence, and it, <br />lies South of the Paper Calmenson Co. Inadvertently, in the SW corner <br />of the property a garage was built and is operating as private carriers, <br />carrying only the merchandise of the Paper Calmenson Company. There is <br />also a submerged storage tank for gasoline, and pump~ are situated there. <br />There is no expansion planned at the present time or the foreseeable <br />future. <br /> <br />Willmus moved, Connor.seconded, that the Council accept the peti- <br />tion and hold a public hearing on October 6, 1953 at 2:00 P.M. Roll call <br />Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Edward Mogren, attorney for Richard Brennon, appeared regarding <br />new platting of roads for land located on Dale St. North of Co. Rd. 12. <br />Connor moved, seconded by Willmus, that thifJ matter be referred to Carley <br />for a report at the next meeting to see what plan would work in with <br />his master plan of the Village. Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mrs. James Kirwin and several women living on Karyl Place were pre- <br />sent to complain about the emptying of cesspools in that vicinity, where <br />the effluent runs onto other property. Karon stated that the Health <br />Officer has the power to abate such nuisance, or an ordinance can be <br />adopted relating to this problem. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Membrez, that this particular matter be <br />referred to the Health Officer with power to abate this nuisance.
