<br />VIWGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Regular Meeting, Tuesday, October 20, 19,3" at 2:00 F.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present a <br />Connor, Willmus, Carlson, Membrez, and Hammersten. :Milner Carley, <br />Village Engineer and Ira Karin, Village Attorney, were also present. <br /> <br />Connors moved, Hammersten seconded, that the minutes of the regular <br />meeting and the continued meeting, as they appeared in the written copies <br />mailed to the members, be approved as corrected. Roll call Ayes-(,) <br />Nayes-( 0). <br /> <br />~or Connor opened the meeting to public hearings. <br /> <br />Mr. Lebene appeared in regard to rezoning his property. <br /> <br />The clerk claimed a misunderstanding in regard to getting signatures for fl <br />the petition to rezone the Leben's property. <br /> <br />Mr. Karon reports the ordinance requires the petition shall be brought <br />before the zoning board after the notices have been sent out to all <br />property owners within 2,0 ft. <br /> <br />Tony Schmidt brought up the fact that the matter should be acted on before <br />the last of October becanse of thé difference in taxes on Class "An <br />property and Commercial property which :Mr. Lebens will have to pa¡r. <br /> <br />Membrez suggested we call a special meeting to be held before the 31st of <br />October. <br /> <br />HlJIIIlersten moved, seconded by Connor, that the meeting be continued to <br />Saturday, October 24th at 9:00 A.M., md the Zoning Board meet, Friday, <br />October 23rd, at 7:30 F.Me Roll call .A¡yes-(') N.-es-(O). <br /> <br />Inspector Schmidt presented Mr. Leonard Soukup and Mr. Norbert Soukup of <br />the Northern States Prestressed Concrete Company with their plan for a <br />new plant located on the six acres of land opposite the Standard Oil <br />Companylt on the Long Lake Road <br /> <br />Inspector Schmidt recommended the plans be accepted as they cOlllplied with <br />the Building Code as to weight and strength. <br /> <br />Vembrez asked how many the plant would employ and Mr. Soukup said there <br />would be six people 'to start and said a similar plant at Nashville employes <br />2, people after three years of operation. If they have to enlarge, they <br />can build 400 ft. onto the proposed building. <br /> <br />)fembrez moved, seconded by Connor, to concur with the Building Inspector's <br />recommendation and approve the plans. Roll call Aye..(') N~es-(O). <br /> <br />The discussion was continued in regard to ma.mtaining the road leading to <br />the plant. Mr. Soukup asked if they could main'tain the road in order to <br />reach County Road ·cn. He told of some contractor friends who have a like <br />problem and they post a bond. <br /> <br />It was to be decided whether it was a restricted road which would be <br />maintained by the present owner )Ir. Kersten, or if the road would be taken <br />over by th.e Village of Roseville for future maintenance.
