d. Landscape plans shall be developed with an emphasis upon the boundary or perimeter of the 3467 <br />subject site, to the immediate perimeter of the structure, parking areas, and along areas to be 3468 <br />screened. 3469 <br />e. The following minimum number of plant materials shall be provided: 3470 <br />i. One and two-family dwellings constructed after January 1, 2011 shall plant 1 tree per lot 3471 <br />in the boulevard. The boulevard tree shall be of a species identified in the City of 3472 <br />Roseville Street Tree Master Plan for streets and boulevards and shall be planted 3473 <br />according to City requirements. 3474 <br />ii. Multi-family residential dwellings shall require 1 canopy or evergreen tree per dwelling 3475 <br />unit. 3476 <br />iii. Non-Residential uses shall require the greater of: 3477 <br />A. 1 canopy or evergreen tree per 1,000 square feet of gross building floor area; or 3478 <br />B. 1 canopy or evergreen tree per 50 lineal feet of site perimeter; 3479 <br />iv. Up to 25% of the required number of canopy or evergreen trees may be substituted with 3480 <br />ornamental trees at a ratio of 2 ornamental trees to 1 canopy or evergreen tree. 3481 <br />v. Except for one- and two-family dwellings, shrubs shall be required at the greater of the 3482 <br />following: 3483 <br />A. 6 shrubs per 1,000 square feet of gross building floor area; or 3484 <br />B. 6 shrubs per 50 lineal feet of site perimeter. 3485 <br />vi. In a mixed-use building or development, each use shall be calculated separately to 3486 <br />determine minimum landscape requirements. 3487 <br />f. The City encourages the use of native plant materials that provide interest and color in the 3488 <br />winter. 3489 <br />4. Plant Material Standards: 3490 <br />a. The complement of trees required shall be at least 25% deciduous and at least 25% 3491 <br />coniferous. Not more than 30% of the required number of trees shall be composed of a single 3492 <br />species. 3493 <br />b. Minimum Size of Plantings: Caliper inches to be measured 6 inches off the ground. 3494 <br />i. Canopy tree: 3-inch caliper 3495 <br />ii. Ornamental tree: 1.5-inch caliper iii. Evergreen tree: 6-foot height 3496 <br />iii. Deciduous or evergreen shrub: 5-gallon pot 3497 <br />5. Method of Installation: 3498 <br />a. The spacing of trees shall be appropriate to the type of plant species provided. Evergreen 3499 <br />shrubs shall be planted in clusters in order to maximize survival. 3500
