BED AND BREAKFAST ESTABLISHMENT: A private residence that rents rooms as temporary 173 <br />lodging and which is the principal residence of the operator. 174 <br />BERM: A land alteration where fill is added to the surface of the ground in order to create a earthen 175 <br />mound or hill generally used in conjunction with walls, fences, or plant material to screen one parcel of 176 <br />land from another or from a street. 177 <br />BLOCK: A tract of land bounded by streets, or by a combination of streets and public parks, cemeteries, 178 <br />railroad rights-of-way, or shorelines of waterways. BOUTIQUE 185 <br />SALE (RESIDENTIAL): The sale of handcrafted items conducted on residential premises, where the 186 <br />items sold are made by the occupant of the premises at which the sale takes place, or by friends of such 187 <br />occupant, and where the sale is conducted by said occupant or friends of such occupant and not by an 188 <br />agent or any other person to whom a commission, fee, or salary is paid. Items for sale shall be made in the 189 <br />home and not purchased for resale from any retail or wholesale business source nor received on 190 <br />consignment for the purpose of resale. 191 <br />BREWERY: A facility that produces for sale more than 3,500 barrels annually of cider, mead, beer or 192 <br />other beverages made from malt by fermentation and containing not less than one-half of one percent 193 <br />alcohol by volume. A brewery may include a taproom. (Ord. 1566, 10-22-2018) 194 <br />BREWPUB: A restaurant that brews cider, mead, beer or other beverages made from malt by 195 <br />fermentation on the same premises and that also holds one or more retail on-sale licenses and that 196 <br />manufactures fewer than 3,500 barrels of malt liquor in a year, at any one licensed premises, the entire 197 <br />production of which is solely for consumption on tap on any licensed premises owned by the brewer, or 198 <br />for off-sale from those licensed premises as permitted in section 340A.24, subdivision 2.
