• Watermain replacement — County Road B, Dellwood Street to Lexington Avenue
o This section is proposed to be replaced due to high water break history.
o The project will be done in conjunction with Xcel Energy's gas replacement
proj ect.
Lift Stations:
The Long Lake Lift Station, located on Long Lake Road south of County Road D will be
replaced in 2022 with a grinder pump lift station. The new lift station will be relocated
further from the road to protect the lift station and to make it safer to maintain and on higher
ground as it is currently subject to street flooding.
The Dale/Owasso Lift Station, located at Dale Street/S Owasso Boulevard, will be upgraded
in 2023. Work will begin on design for this lift station which will include pump and
electrical upgrades and a new backup generator.
Storm sewer system improvements: Staff continues to analyze the existing drainage
systems and localized flooding issues and is identifying mitigation projects. Staff is now
working on developing a 2022 drainage improvement project to alleviate some of these
flooding concerns. Staff has already identified several projects for 2022. Some of the
projects include:
Pavement Management Storm Water Upgrades: Miscellaneous storm sewer
upgrades.
Fairview & County Road C Storm Water Improvements
o Replace the existing outlet with a new outlet control structure (OCS). The
new OCS will provide better control of the pond and make maintenance
easier. The new OCS will prevent large debris from entering the new 84"
storm pipe that replaced RCD 4. The improvements will provide some
additional storage.
• County Road C2 & Simpson Street Underground
o A new underground storm pipe will be installed to detain water in the area
which will reduce flooding that occurs in the intersection.
4. Other Improvements:
Snelling Avenue Improvements (MNDOT): MnDOT will add a new median cable barrier
on Snelling Avenue between County Road C and I-694. As part of the project, MnDOT will
extend the southbound left turn lane at Lydia Avenue to provide more storage.
Th 36 & Hamlin Avenue Signal Replacement (MNDOT): MnDOT will be replacing the
signal at the westbound ramps to TH 36 and Hamline Avenue (entrance to Cederholm). The
new signal project will include upgrades to ADA ped ramps.
Lexington Avenue/County Road B2 Intersection Improvements: The intersection will be
upgraded to add turn lanes on County Road B2 as well as other geometric improvements to
help the traffic flow in the area. Additionally, the signal system will be replaced along with
other miscellaneous upgrades including drainage and retaining walls.
