Page 4.

Karon Arrived.

The sewage system at the High School was discussed. The possibility
of a problem in the future in draining the surface water was brought
up. Mr. Connor wondered if it would be wise to purchase Bennett
Lake to drain this water into.

The clerk read a report formerly drawn up by Carley estimating the
land acquisition of Bennett Lake to be $75,000.00.

It was stated that we would have to acquire too much land as Bennett
Lake is too shallow.

Connor moved, seconded by Carlson, that the Engineer be instructed to
study the question of purchasing more property for the purpose of
storing surface water and have a report for the December 15th meeting.
Roll call Ayes-(4) Nay-es-(O).

Clerk read Ordinance No. 174 in regard to plumbing license for
working as plumber or doing plumbing work in the Village.

Membrez moved, seconded by Hammersten, that Ordinance No. 174
licensing plumbers be adopted. Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O).

Ratfield and Cobb appeared before the Council in regard to Carol's
Garden Plat and in submitting various plat restrictions to Veterans
Administration and F.H.A. have come back in regard to drainage we
have set up for the area~t\i(Have set up two lots south and two lots
north of Ruggles to drain the water and use as a sump area. Have
put in 6 ft. storm dry well into real good gravel and should make a
sound drainage system for that part of the area. The VA has requested
that the Village take title to these lots and maintain the lots until
such a time as an adequate storm system is installed. Rattfield
and Cobb are agreeable to deeding these lots to the Village with the
understanding they have a reversion clause in the agreement that
when adequate storm sewers are put in the area, they will be reverted
to the owners.

The matter was discussed. Membrez mentioned the Mayflower deal
which is a headache.

Connor moved, seconded by Hammersten, that the matter be referred to
the Technical Committee. Roll call AyesM(4) N~es-(O).

Mr. Rattfield also brought to our attention the requirements of the
acceptance of the road which has been taken care of by the Council.
He also asked for street signs. Hammersten is to write a letter t.
that effect.

The clerk read a resolution in regard to Roma Avenue between Fernwood
and Dunlap.
Hammersten moved, Membrez seconded, that the resolution be adopted
and the hearing be held December 1, 1953, at 2:00 P.M.
