It was felt that opening B2 would solve <br />the problem. <br /> <br />Tony Schmidt suggested the Village tbuld put the road in and the <br />County take it over after. <br /> <br />Connor suggested the expense be born by the School, the Village and <br />the few people adjoining the new road. <br /> <br />Carley said he would recommend we adopt a resolutiin asking the <br />County Board to take over County Road B2 between Lexington Avenue <br />and Victoria and suggesting that the Village accept from the <br />County Snelling Curve running from Snelling to Snelling for the <br />reason that the County system really requires the County roads they <br />now maintain and Snelling Curve is a connection between streets <br />and could work to better advantage to the Village. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Membrez, the Engineer draw up a report of <br />cost of grading B2 and land acquisition from Lexington to Hamline <br />and submit the report at the November 17th meeting. Roll call <br />Ayes...(4) Na¡yes-(O). <br /> <br />The Clerk read a letter from Mr. Kermit Foss in regard to a problem <br />of necessity to place a house trailer on his lot for the builder <br />while he is building his home at 965 Sherren. <br /> <br />Foss Temporary <br />house trailer <br />pe rmi t. <br /> <br />Hammersten reported Mr. Foss had taken out a cesspool permit and <br />plans to work out the necessary sanitation. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Membrez seconded, that Mr. Foss be permitted to <br />use a house trailer on his property until January 1, 1954. Roll call <br />~es-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The Clerk read". letter from Carley in regard to purchasing of Road Equipment <br />equipment for oiling and maintenance of roads. He estimated a total <br />of $15,000 to cover a 1000 gal. capacity distributor, maintenance <br />truck, sander, roller and broom. <br /> <br />There was much discussion. It was suggested. the new equipment would <br />require housing, probably an addition to the building and further <br />expense. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Membrez seconded, that the matter of purchasing <br />oiler and other equipment be referred to the Technical Committee. <br />Roll call Ayes-(4) Na¡yes-(O). <br /> <br />Wes. Chandler asked us to provide two policemen for the -Teen Age <br />Dance- to be held Sat. Nov. 7, 1953, at Alexander Ramsey High School. <br />He asked Roseville to provide the policemen at this dance to see how <br />it would work out and just what would be required with the idea <br />that the other villages and townships involved would also do their <br />share as called upon later on as they plan on five dances. <br /> <br />Police Service <br />for dance <br /> <br />Membrez moved, Hanunersten seconded, that Mr. Carlson be authorized to <br />hire the services of one constable for the Teen Age Dance on Sat. <br />Nov. 7, 1953, from 7:45 P.M. to 11:45 P.M.
