111 County Road B Resurfacing <br />112 o Dale Street – Rice Street. <br />113 County Road B2 Resurfacing <br />114 o The County will complete resurfacing County Road B2 between Fairview Avenue <br />115 and Lexington Avenue. The new pathway between the Snelling Avenue ramps on <br />116 the north side of County Road B2 under the Snelling Avenue Bridge will be <br />117 completed and opened. The signal at Fairview Avenue and County Road B2 will <br />118 be replaced. <br />119 5. Other Projects <br />120 Xcel Gas will be replacing a major gas line on County Road B between Hamline Avenue and <br />121 Lexington Avenue and on Hamline Avenue between County Road B and County Road B2. <br />122 The overall cost of the Public Works 2022 Work Plan is approximately $5-6 million. <br />123 Staff presented the Public Works 2022 Work Plan to the Public Works, Environment and <br />124 Transportation Commission on November 23, 2021. The meeting minutes from that meeting are <br />125 included in Attachment G. <br />126 F INANCIAL I MPACTS <br />127 Staff is developing preliminary cost estimates for the projects at this time. We anticipate the total <br />128 work plan cost to be in the $5-6 million range with City cost around $5 million. <br />129 The Street Infrastructure Fund supports the local street Mill and Overlay program. MSA street <br />130 overlays are proposed to be funded from the City’s MSA account. <br />131 Utility improvements are funded from the respective Utility enterprise funds. <br />132 Staff has discussed opportunities for funding with the watershed districts for storm sewer system <br />133 improvements and will continue to pursue those funds where applicable. <br />134 Crack sealing and major patching are funded from the street maintenance budget. This budget is <br />135 supported by the general fund tax levy and MSA maintenance allocation. Staff recommends funding <br />136 a program consistent with our pavement maintenance policies. <br />137 By taking action now, the Council will be authorizing staff to work on plans for the projects as <br />138 described and to advertise for bids once plans are finished. As project bids are opened, staff will <br />139 bring individual contracts to the City Council for approval. A detailed cost breakdown will be <br />140 included with those Council Actions. <br />141 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION <br />142 These improvements are recommended for construction in 2022. Additional utility improvements <br />143 may be identified at a later date and brought to the Council for authorization.
