REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date:November 30, 2020 <br />Item No.: 5.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Introduction of Culture Brokers, LLC <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 At the October 26, City Council meeting, the City Council approved a contract with Culture Brokers, <br />3 LLC to support the city’s efforts to embed a racial equity lens within day-to-day work in a <br />4 sustainable manner, and advise on community engagement components. Staff has begun work with <br />5 Culture Brokers, LLC and the team is here to introduce themselves and kick off this relationship and <br />6 work. As part of the first steps, the city is putting together its Strategy Team. The job description for <br />7 this work is attached for reference. <br />8 <br />9 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />10 The city strives to be a welcoming and inclusive place for all and is committed to promoting <br />11 equitable service and diversity in the community.
