Attachment C City of Roseville ORDINANCE SUMMARY NO. ____ ORDINANCES AMENDING CHAPTER 907, RENTAL REGISTRATIONS AND CREATING A NEW CHAPTER 909, SHORT-TERM RENTAL LICENSING The following is the official summary of Ordinance No. ____ and_______ approved by the City Council of Roseville on February 8, 2021. The City Council of the City of Roseville amended Chapter 907 and created a new Chapter 909 to the Roseville City Code. The amendments to Chapter 907 aim to modify and clarify specific requirements within Roseville City Code, Sections 907.02, Definitions, 907.08, Exemptions, 907.09, Registration Suspensions and Revocation, that collectively define a short-term rental, exempt certain rentals from obtaining a registration, and provide a process to suspend and/or revoke a rental registration. The creation of a new Chapter 909 aims to require licensing of all short-term rentals, which are defined as any rental of 30 days or less, including the prohibition of stst rentals less than seven (7) days between October 1and May 1 and less than ten (10) days between stst May 1 and October 1. Chapter 909 includes penalties for failure to license a short-term rental and provides for suspension or revocation of the license if it is determined that the property or the owner is in violation of City Code. The Short-Term Rental License fee would be set at $515 for year 2021. Both ordinances shall become effective upon their publication on.
