<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued Meeting Thursday Evening, January 28, 1954 at 7 :00 p; .M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above da~e as a contimuation of the regular <br />meeting of Tuesday, January 19, 1954 with the following members present: <br />Willmus, Olson, Salverda, Carlson and Hammersten. Milner Carley, Village <br />Engineer, was also present. <br /> <br />The matter of a new building inspector was considered and there were seven <br />applica.nt s for the position. <br /> <br />Olson moved, seconded by Hammersten, that Howard Borden, 2804 Churchill <br />be appointed Building Inspector at a salary of $2,500.00 per year. The <br />hours are to be regulated according to work, and the Inspector is to <br />write up the permits and do necessary office work. Roll Call Ayes-(4) <br />N ayes- )( 0 ). <br /> <br />Olson moved, seconded by Hammersten, that Milner Carley be re~ppointed <br />Engineer on same basis as now employed. Roll Call Ayes-4) Nayes-(l) <br />Salverda No.. <br /> <br />Salverda moved, Willmus seconded, that all employes of the Vilhge of <br />Roseville must reside therein unless it is impossible to replace him by <br />~ resident of the Vill~ge. Roll Call Ayes-(2) Naye~(2) Salverd~-Ye5 <br />C~lson not voting, Willmus-Yes, Hammersten and Olson-N~. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Salverda seconded, that all road men be re-appointed for <br />another year on same basis as now employed. Roll Call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O) <br /> <br />Carlson move~, Olson seconded, that Lester Johnson be re-appointed a <br />member of the Zoning Board for a term of five years, Roll Call Ayes-(5) <br />Nayes- (0) <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Carlson, that Salverda, Haflund and Kromhout <br />be reappoint~d Inspectors for the coming year. Roll Call Ayes...(5) <br />Nayes-~u). ! <br /> <br />Carley brought up the question of the width of the right of way south of ! <br />Roselawn and drew a sketch of the proposed road. The road was practically ¡ <br />there but it could only be 30 ft. wide. The council decided to go down and! <br />lo?k at the property. I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Carlson moved, seconded by Hammersten, that a permit be issued to Phillips <br />Petroleum for a filling station at the northeast corner of North Snelling <br />Avenue and County Road "C_2D. Roll Call Ayes-(5) Nayes...(O). <br /> <br />Carlson moved, seconded by Olson, that permit be granted to Phillips <br />Petroleum for the Southwest comer of North Fairview Avenue and County <br />Road "Dn Roll Call Aye5-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Olson moved, seconded by Hammersten, that Electrical Licenses be issued <br />to Meyer Electric, 1656 E. Co. Rd. nEB and American Electric Co., 5415 <br />Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis.
