REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: April 11, 2022 Item No.: Department Approval City Manager Approval Item Description: Approve Resolution Awarding Contract for 2022 Pavement Management Project 1 B ACKGROUND 2 The 2022 Pavement Management Project consists of mostly street mill and overlay projects. A new 3 pathway connection will be constructed at Lexington Avenue and Woodhill Drive and the pathway at 4 Larpenteur Avenue from Galtier Street to Rice Street will be resurfaced. Along with minor utility work, 5 the project also includes installing an underground storm system to alleviate flooding at Simpson Street 6 and County Road C2. The project bid with one alternate: replacement of the retaining wall at County 7 Road C2 and Merrill Street. See Attachment B for the overall street segment map in the 2022 Pavement 8 Management Program. 9 P OLICY O BJECTIVE 10 The annual pavement management project provides maintenance of the City’s street system as identified 11 in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Based on past practice, the City Council has awarded the 12 contract to the lowest responsible bidder. Six qualified bids were received for the project. Upon review 13 of the bids received, Bituminous Roadways, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder.
