target and looking to use the Local Sales Tax to fund a new Maintenance Facility and a <br />new License and Passport Center along with a Pedestrian and Bike Bridge over <br />Highway 36. The Local Sales Tax request must first be authorized by the legislator, <br />and then a referendum would be on the next general election ballot allowing residents to <br />vote on each individual project. So, the Maintenance Facility could be approved while <br />the Ped Bridge could be voted down. More information on the proposed projects and <br />the process will be presented to the Commission at the February meeting. (further <br />discussion scheduled for January 24ffi meeting) <br />o January 24ffi Meeting: The City Council is scheduled to discuss the "Climate <br />Emergency" resolution as was presented to this commission at their January meeting. <br />The Commission should be prepared to add an item to the agenda to discuss a <br />resolution of support for action to combat and mitigate climate change, based on <br />the Council's discussion and requested action. Staff will bring any required <br />material to the meeting based on the results of the City Council meeting. <br />Sustainability Update <br />• Partners in Energy <br />o Staff continues to meet with Partners in Energy every other week to discuss the current <br />work and the next steps to implement the plan. <br />o Partners in Energy and City staff held a Renewable Roseville webinar on Thursday, <br />January 13. The webinar was focused on renewable energy resource options available <br />to residents. Windsource was the main option promoted as there are available <br />subscriptions available, unlike solar subscriptions which are waitlisted. Roseville asked <br />the 35 attendees to help the City get 30 new Windsource subscribers in 30 days (by <br />February 14). <br />o More information can be found at www.CitvOfRoseville.com/Partners-in-Energy <br />• The January PWETC is our Sustainable Super meeting. Staff will update the commission <br />on as much as possible, and there will be two additional speakers. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Fall Sweep was completed 11/29/21 with 2 complete sweeps of the City. <br />0 26" of Snow in Roseville so far. <br />0 6 Full Plows, 4 of them on every weekend in December. <br />0 6 other events were plowing and treating Collector Routes only. <br />0 12/16/21 Thunderstorms - 0.51" rain then ice. <br />o Tree Trimming affected by heavy plow schedule has impacted days trimming, out only <br />10 days since we started 12/6/21. <br />o Tree Trimming has also been impacted by the 11 water breaks the Street Department <br />has either dug, hauled or restored. <br />o Asphalt plants closed 12/15/21. <br />o Sign work repair has increased due to winter conditions and vehicles hitting signs. <br />o Ongoing monthly leaf turning at our Leaf Recycling Center. <br />Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Located city -owned facilities for Gopher State One Call locate requests. <br />o Repaired 4 broken water mains. <br />o Continued repairing water meters and MIUs. <br />o Collected water samples for bacteriological testing. <br />
