<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Regular meeting, Tuesday Eve., March 9, 1954 at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date vli th the follovling members <br />present: Carlson, Willmus, Olron, and Hammersten. Hilnor Carley, <br />the Village Engineer and Lofstgaarden, Village Attorney, were also <br />present. rœ. SalveTda was absent, due to illness. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by NayorOlson. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the report on all gravel and sand bids. <br /> <br />Eilnor Carley, the VilJa ge Engineer, reported that Oscar Gottfried <br />was the lowest bidder, at $1.50 per yard and would be the shortest <br />haul to Village Roads. <br /> <br />IL3.mmersten moved, seconded by \1illmus that the contract be given to <br />f~. Gottfried, on the Village Engineer's recommendation. Roll Call.A~~s- <br />(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Clerk read specifications for metal culverts. <br /> <br />Willmus moved, Carlson seconded that we advertise for bids Rnd that <br />they be opened at 2:00 P.H., April 6, 195L.. Roll Call Ayes-(4) Nayes- <br />(0) . <br /> <br />Hayor Olson asked at this time if anyone present wanted to be heard. <br /> <br />I1r. Linder, 3069 Woodbridge, who acted as chairman of a committee for <br />the purpose of revievling the present dog ordinance and make recommend- <br />ations thereof. :Hr. Linder presented each of t he Council members <br />a report on their findings. The COJ11l11ittee members consist of the <br />follow~ng members: <br /> <br />Edwin W. Brown, 845 Sandhurst Drive, Secy. <br />George Schulte, 1015 Grandview <br />Lloyd Dosh, 1023 Grandview <br />Carl Dahlquist, 3054 Woodbridge <br />Floyd Drew, 995 Grandv~ew <br />Van Harwood, 1159 Karyl Place <br />H.W. WoU'gren, Jr. 999 Grandview <br /> <br />Hr. Van Harwood reported Ghat he contacted a dog pound in St. Paul <br />who ,·muld charge 50¢ per day and S~l.OO each for exterminating them. <br /> <br />}fr. Hammersten reported that all dog tags are coming out with steel <br />hooks and are re-inforced with eyelets in the hole. <br /> <br />The Committee suggested that the Village dog catcher be sworn in by the <br />Justice of the Peace as an officer of the law, e.nd be allowed to go: <br />on peoples property and pick up any dogs that may be committing a crime. <br />Loftsgaarden, Attorney, reported that unless a crirræ is being cor~ritted, <br />the dog catcher docs not have the right to enter inside of homes unless <br />he had a search ,\Tarrant.
