<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILIE <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council, Tuesda3' October 5, 1954 2.p.m. <br /> <br />'.\Jle Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: <br />Carlson, Salverda., Olson, Willmusand Hammersten. Milner Carley, Village <br />Engineer, and B. H. lDftsgaarden, Village Attorney, were also present. <br /> <br />Olson moved, seconded by Willmus that the minutes of the previous meet- <br />ing be ~proved as presented to the members by mail. Roll Call-Ayes (5) <br />Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Mrs. Hoc:haffer, from the league of Women Voters, presented the Council <br />with a written invitation for them to attend a meeting at which time <br />they will introduce information on sewage and drainage. The meeting <br />will be held on October 12th at - 8 p.m. at the High School. As it is <br />the same night as our regular Council meeting, the members were not sure <br />that they could attend the meeting at the school. <br /> <br />Mr. Van Harwood, one member of the committee who sent out cards on the <br />On-Sale Liquor Store question, aske4 the Council for an extention of <br />one week so that more voters would have a chance to send their cards in, <br />inasmuch as some people did not get the cards until Mondq. Carlson, <br />moved, seconded by Hammersten that one weeks' extention be granted. <br />Roll Call--Ayes (3)-Nayes (2) Opposed: Willmus and Salverda. <br /> <br />Mike Walsh, manager of the Off-Sale Store, told the Council of a little <br />trouble he had with one of his customers who told JI:1m a liquor company <br />was giving one free case of whiskey for ""ery three bought, and the <br />Council members shared this whiskey. Mr. Walsh insisted that no liquor <br />company ever gives away any free liquor. <br /> <br />Worth Oebs, of the Business Men's Assoc. meationed the additional bus <br />line that this Assoc. has been working on and. asked what was the next <br />step to get the COmlcil t s approval to have the bus travel on the Village <br />Streets. He was to1.d that the Bp Co. shou1.d submit a petition and <br />state the route to be followed. <br /> <br />Ronald Larson submitted to the Council a model Civil Definse Ordinance <br />which he asked them to read. and study. He said he hoped the Council <br />would a<Üpt it as an Ordinance as he-fè1t it was necessary in our <br />comm.un.ity. <br /> <br />The Clerk read. a letter from Dr. Sekhon, Vil1.age Health Officer, on <br />the condition of the Rose Vista Apartments. He recommended that the <br />Council take action against the wwners of the Buildings. Attomey <br />Lof'tsgaardeh suggested the Clerk write a letter to the State Health <br />Dept. and again bring this matter to their attention. <br /> <br />The Clerk read. a letter from. Mr. Emmett W11l1ams" Supt. of Schools" <br />who thanked the police force for the fine job they have done in d:1.i-$ct- <br />ing traffic at the intersection of Dellwood. and If .H. 36. <br />The Council also received a letter from the secretary of the A1~.r <br />Ramsey High ScboQl P. T.
