Neel Pole Project <br />o Neel Energy will replace or paint large transmission poles this summer <br />between Lake Bennett and Rice Street Most poles run along the north side of <br />South Owasso Boulevard. <br />Council Update: <br />• Below is a highlight of items recently presented to and/or acted on by the City <br />Council. More information can be found in the agenda packets and minutes for the <br />referenced Council meetings: <br />o November 28: <br />• Denied Minor Plat for Wheaton Woods 2°d Addition <br />• Approved Condition Use permit for greater density for proposed <br />apartment at County Road B & Albert Street <br />• Awarded City Attorney Contracts <br />• New Civil Attorney, Kennedy & Graven <br />o December 5: <br />• Adopted 2023 City Budget <br />• Adopted 2023 Fee Schedule <br />• Adopted 2023 Utility Rates <br />o January 9: <br />• Swore in mayor and council members <br />• Received League of Women Voters report on City ADA <br />compliance <br />• Approved "Less Mow May Resolution" <br />• Adopted resolution supporting creation of local sales tax in <br />Roseville. <br />• Approved 2023 Public Works Plan <br />Sustainability Update <br />• Roseville continues to lead 26 cities participating in the Intercity Home Energy Squad <br />Challenge in HES visits per capita as of December 22 - mncee.org/2022-intercity- <br />challenge-home-enerey-squad <br />• Roseville has graduated from Neel Energy's Partners in Energy Program as of <br />December 31, 2022. Staff will continue implementing the Energy Action Plan as a <br />City program. Neel & the Center for Energy & Environment are still available to the <br />City for guidance and other resources. <br />• Staff is working on gathering information about the Inflation Reduction Act to provide <br />guidance and support for residents looking to take advantage of the new incentives. <br />• Staff received 17 applications for Roseville's 1` Annual Sustainable Steward Award - <br />citvofroseville.com/1824/Sustainable-Steward-Award. The applications came from a <br />mix of residential and commercial properties. Three winners were selected for the <br />Gold, Silver & Bronze award for 2022, and were highlighted at the January 23, 2023 <br />EDA meeting. <br />• The January Commission meeting is the 4d' Annual Sustainability Super Meeting. <br />Staff will discuss what was accomplished in 2022, and what is on the work plan for <br />0 Page 2 <br />
