<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILIE <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council Tues. Feb. 1, 1955 2 P. M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: Salverda, Willmus and Hammersten. Milner Carley, Engineer, <br />and B. H. Loftsgaarden, Attorney, were also present. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the report of the Zûning Board on the matter of rezoning <br />Lot E and Lot D at the SW corner of Judith and Hamline. They recommend- <br />ed that Lot E only be rezoned to Commercial but that since no plans were <br />submitted for Lot D no action could be taken at this time. <br />Mr. Roland Oliver represented a group of property owners some of whom <br />had signed the petition to rezone this property. He had been instructed <br />to remove 4 names from the petition because these people felt the <br />petitioner had not :given them accurate facts before they signed. Those <br />wishing to have their names removed were Arnold and Julia Deutsch and <br />Emil and Gloria Brandsness. Mr. & I'1rs. Brandsness were not able to <br />attend this meeting so they submitted a letter authorizing the Attorney <br />to remove their names. After a short discussion the Council decided <br />to postpone any action on this rezoning for 2 weeks. <br /> <br />The C1ert read a letter from the Fire Underwriters Inspection Bureau <br />which was in answer to a letter we sent them. They stated they would <br />make a survey of the public ttreprotection facilities in the Village at <br />no cost to the Village and report later. <br /> <br />A letter was read from the league of Ivlinnesota l1unicipalities inviting <br />the Cpunci1 to attend a meeting to be held Thursday Feb. 3 at 1:30 P.M <br />at the Fiesta Room Lowry Hotel on the matter of OASI supplementing FERA. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Wi1lmus that the Plat of Midway Acres be <br />referred to the Engineer. Roll Call Ayes (3)-Nayes(0). <br /> <br />Wayne Bennett of the State Dept. of Civil Defense reported on the survey <br />that was made IÍIl the Village for the installation of Air Raid Signals. <br />The Council stated the recommendations would be discussed and that he <br />would be notified if the Village decided to install such signals. <br /> <br />A discussion was held on the matter of the status of the roads in <br />Ashbach Park. Carley submitted his recommendations on tho Laurie Addition. Willmus <br />moved, seconded by Hammersten that the plat be approved subject to the <br />recommendations of Mr. Carley. Mr. Carley will send a copy of the Plat Laurie Adc <br />to the State Highway Dept. asking their permission to place a culvert <br />under the service drive of TH36. The owner, Kenneth Mueller, will have <br />to deposit $100.00 for Engineering costs and also a $7,000.00 bond <br />guaranteeing stabilization of the roads in this addition. Roll Call <br />Ayes (3)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />Frank DeVito submitted a letter signed by a group of his neighbors <br />stating they do not object to him doing his reupholstering work in his <br />home.
