<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILIE <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council May 3, 1955 at 2 p.m. <br /> <br />The Council met on the above date with the following members present; <br />Carlson, Salverda, Olson, Willmus and Hammersten. B. H. Loftsgaarden, <br />attorney, and Don Carley, Engineer, were also present. <br /> <br />Carlson moved, Willmus seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approve~. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The bids were opened for the Tractor Loader. Three bids were received. <br />Rosholt Equipmemt------Borchert, Ingersoll-------Wm. Ziegler Co. <br />Olson moved, Carlson seconded that the bids be referred to the Engineer <br />for tabulating. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The Clerk read the report of the Planning Commission on the matter of <br />rezoning property for Victor Swanson on Lexington south of Garden. The <br />comrruission recommended the rezoning be hãld over until such time as the <br />drainage'problem is solved. Vincent Countney, attorney for Hr. Swanson, <br />stated that his client wanted the property rezoned to business but <br />requested that no building permits be issued until the Village Engineer <br />is satisfied that the drainage problem has been solved. <br />The Village Engineer stated that he is to meet with Mr. Sheppard <br />City oZ st. Paul Engineer on Friday to discuss the drainage problem, and <br />at that time hopes to get an answer. Herbert I..eiBr of 1767 Lindy St. <br />stated that as a property owner, near the property to be rezoned, he was <br />not opposed to the rezoning but he thol'.ght the drainage problem should be <br />solved first. Hammersten moved, Carlson seconded the petition to rezone <br />property for Victor Swanson be held over for 2 1leeks. Roll Call Ayes ~5)-Nayes <br /> <br />1v'lrs. Keith Burnham of 2130 Fairways Lane appeared before the Council with <br />a complaint about neighborhood dogs. She stated the female dogs are causing <br />the biggest trouble. Hammersten moved, Olson seconded that an amendment <br />be added to the Dog Ordinance to take care of female dogs when tl'ey are <br />in heat. Tbèattorney was instructed to draw up this section of the <br />ordinance. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A representative from the Minn. State Highway Dept. presented a proposal <br />to the Council to close off Western Ave. onto TH 36. After some discussion <br />Olson moved, Carlson seconded that the matter be held over for 2 weeks for <br />further study. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Mr. John Daubney presented a petition to rezone a tract of land on the <br />SE corner of Snelling & TH36. The State Farm Mutual Automobile Ins. Co. <br />wants to build an office building on this site. Olson moved, Carlson <br />seconded the petition be accepted and the Planning Commission hearing <br />be hàld on May 11 at 7:30 P. H.and the public hearing be held at a <br />Special Neeting on May 13 at 8 P. " . Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Jim Borden, Building inspector, submitted a letter to the Council asking <br />them to give special permission to August Lindstrom to hold a set back of <br />2$ ft. on a corner instead of 30 ft. The lot in question is Lot 10, Block 3 <br />Woodside Addition.
