2023Capital Improvement Plan <br />Project/Initiative Summary <br />Department/Division:ParkImprovements <br />Project/Initiative Title:Playground Replacement <br />Total Estimated Cost:$180,000 <br />Funding Source:ParkImprovement Program Fund (propertytax) <br />Project/Initiative Description: <br />Thisproject will remove and replace theplayground at Keya Park (formerly <br />Pocahontas Park), which has outlived its useful life and is showingsignificant signs of <br />deterioration. <br />Playground replacements are based on age and condition ratings. These ratings are <br />calculated through regular inspections done by City staff that are Certified Playground Safety <br />Inspectors. The project will include a full community engagement process and finish with a <br />community playground build. <br />Additional funds are planned for Keya(turtle) themed elements and possible interpretive items. <br />Location: <br />Keya(formerlyPocahontas Park) <br />2540 Pascal St. <br /> <br />
