Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, February 27, 2023 <br /> Page 6 <br /> Mayor Roe explained Nine North will also be working with the nine cities to find <br /> out what the cities would like to have added as well. <br /> Mr. Ongstad explained Nine North wants to expand its civic as well as its commu- <br /> nity reach. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment with no one coming for- <br /> ward. <br /> b. Consider Awarding Contract for a City-Wide Classification and Compensa- <br /> tion Study <br /> Assistant City Manager Rebecca Olson briefly highlighted this item as detailed in <br /> the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated February 27, 2023. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder asked what the range was for the seven responses and <br /> costs. <br /> Ms. Olson explained the ranges are very unique because each proposal included <br /> different aspects, different things the company would do and how it would be done <br /> but in general she thought the lowest was in the forty thousands and the highest was <br /> closer to ninety thousand. Depending on which options were included there was <br /> also options for follow-up, maintenance systems and things like that. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder assumed the contract in the packet was reviewed by the <br /> City Attorney or was that internally looked at. <br /> Ms. Olson explained typically what happens is the City has a standard professional <br /> services agreement that the City requests its vendors complete and that has been <br /> reviewed by the City Attorney and updated. That is the contract the City will be <br /> using. It is the same one the City has used for a lot of the other standard professional <br /> services. The contract that they have is very similar to the City's but if there is <br /> anything the City needs to sign on their end, that would be reviewed by the City <br /> Attorney. <br /> Councilmember Etten stated when looking at the review and update job descrip- <br /> tions, he assumed they would need to work with staff on this. He asked if Ms. <br /> Olson knew what the company was going to offer. He also asked what work will <br /> be done for the twenty-five thousand dollars. He thought this was the majority of <br /> the contract, almost half of the contract by itself. <br /> Ms. Olson explained that with review of the job descriptions, this company will <br /> have to work specifically with each individual department and employees to get <br />
