Sustainability Update <br />• Roseville was announced as one of the 2022 winners for the Intercity Home Energy <br />Squad challenge, with the highest percentage of Home Energy Squad visits per capita <br />out of 26 competing cities. The City was celebrated on March 23 at a virtual event. <br />• Staff continue to work with the Gold Leaf pilot program by attending meetings and <br />webinars on the program. Staff continue to meet with the other participating <br />communities to brainstorm potential action items. <br />• Staff is working with an undergraduate student team from the University of Minnesota <br />through May to help implement a Gold Leaf action item. The team has narrowed their <br />project focus to researching Roseville becoming a Walkable Community. <br />• As part of the resiliency planning team, staff attended two Rice Creek Watershed <br />District Community Resilience Building workshops on February 28 and March 22. <br />Staff worked with other community members within the district to discuss barriers, <br />goals, and actionable items to make RCWD and its communities more resilient to the <br />recent changes in precipitation patterns. <br />• Roseville was selected to take part in the EV Smart Cities program through the Great <br />Plains Institute. Staff attended a meeting and webinar on the program, and is <br />discussing neat steps to help promote the program at the City level. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o We have had an additional 12.5" and 9 additional plow callouts 2/24/23- <br />3/22/23. Season total to date is pushing 84.25" (In Roseville measurements). <br />o Completed 3rd benching 3/9/23. Some additional snow blowing and hauling. <br />Had anticipated more snow and needed additional space to store. <br />o Ongoing sign work related to winter conditions will continue. <br />o Two additional water breaks that Street Maintenance hauled and put <br />temporary patches on. <br />o Ongoing monitoring of water break patch conditions. <br />o T.A. Schifsky asphalt plant opened Monday 3/20/23. We are patching as <br />necessary. <br />Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Located City -owned Utilities for Gopher State One Call locate requests. <br />o Made weekly site visits to all lift stations. <br />o Continued replacing water meters and MIUs . <br />o One repair on our water main system for the month of March. <br />o Collected water samples for bacteriological and disinfection byproducts. <br />o Continued laundering towels weekly used by office personnel for cleaning <br />work areas. <br />o Relocated ice machine at the Public Works Building. <br />o Working with roof contractor to stop/repair the leak on the City Hall roof. <br />o Gas pump controls are now wired to run off the generator during an outage. <br />o The last three service doors at the Public works garage are now on the pass <br />card system. <br />o Purchase of the televising trailer now complete. <br />o Updated price list for the cost of New Meters. <br />o Leaking Curb Stop at 435 Judith Ave repaired by Capra's Utilities Inc. <br />• Page 3 <br />Page 18 of 67 <br />
