EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />1 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />2 of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 10th day of April, <br />3 2023, at6:00 p.m. <br />4 <br />5 The following members were present: and the following members were <br />6 absent: . <br />7 <br />8 Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />9 <br />10 RESOLUTION No. <br />11 <br />12 APPROVAL OF GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN METROPOLITAN <br />13 COUNCIL AND THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE FOR GRANT ELIGIBLE WORK <br />14 <br />15 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, as follows: <br />16 <br />17 WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Legislature has appropriated $5 million in general <br />18 obligation bond funds for grants to municipalities to reduce inflow and infiltration in their <br />19 public system infrastructure, administered by Metropolitan Council Environmental <br />20 Services (MCES); and <br />21 <br />22 WHEREAS, the MCES has identified the City of Roseville as one of many metro cities <br />23 having excessive quantities of stormwater and groundwater, commonly referred to as <br />24 inflow and Infiltration (I&I), entering the public sanitary sewer system; and <br />25 <br />26 WHEREAS, to facilitate the reduction of Inflow and Infiltration (I&I), MCES is offering <br />27 a preliminary Minimum Allocation of $25,000 per metro city, with provision for future <br />28 distribution of available funding until the total for the State of Minnesota has been <br />29 expended on I&I reduction measures; and <br />30 <br />31 WHEREAS, staff has identified public sanitary sewer and storm sewer system components <br />32 requiring improvements to minimize or eliminate excessive I&I. <br />33 <br />34 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Of Roseville, <br />35 Minnesota, that the Public Works Department is authorized to apply for these grants; and <br />36 <br />37 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manageror their designee be authorized to <br />38 submit the applications and to serve as the contact person; and <br />39 <br /> <br />
