REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: April 10, 2023 <br />Item No.: <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Consider Appointments to the Finance and Human Rights, Inclusion and <br />Engagement Commissions <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 At the March 13, 2023 meeting, Council extended the application period for the vacancies on both <br />3 the Finance and Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement (HRIEC) Commissions in an effort to <br />4 achieve the policy recommendation to have twice the number of applicants as vacancies as outlined <br />5 in the policy. The intent to establish a fair and open notification and selection process that <br />17 encourages all Roseville residents to apply for appointments. In addition, the city’s Strategic Racial <br />18 Equity Action Plan (SREAP) has identified diversifying city commissions as a high impact area of <br />19 focus.
