He added that the Primer is a living document and suggestions/changes are always <br />welcome. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair Matts-Benson suggested potentially updating the Natural Resources Stewardship <br />Program information in the Primer. Staff confirmed that work has been done on this item that <br />could warrant an update. <br /> <br />c) REVIEW AND DISCUSS PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION GOALS <br />Staff introduced the Parks and Recreation Commission Goals. The Commission last updated the <br />goals in May 2022. Staff noted that they added progress information to the Commission goals <br />document for work done over the last year. <br /> <br />Commissioner Baggenstoss suggested updating the “Keya Park Renaming” goal to “Keya Park <br />Development Project” as he believes ongoing engagement is needed to reengage community <br />members during the playground rebuild, addition of Dakota language education, and land <br />acknowledgement. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brown asked what would be an appropriatewayto keep individuals accountable <br />on goal updates and progress. Vice-Cahir Benson suggested having a quarterly or mid-year goal <br />review and update. <br /> <br />Commissioners Baggenstoss and Ybarra volunteered to be assigned to the proposed “Keya Park <br />Development Project” goal. Staff noted that residents are asking for a quick turnaround on this <br />item to ensure the park updates are completedby winter. Chair Dahlstrom suggested adding <br />“continue to check-in and engage with staff on updates” as a goal for “Keya Park Development <br />Project”. Commissioner Brown suggested that any Commissioners who are interested could go <br />to the final playground community engagement meeting. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair Matts-Benson inquired if there will be an opening celebration for Keya Park. Staff <br />answered that most likely there will be a Discover your Park (DYP) event there next year to <br />celebrate the park and renaming process. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
