Regular City Council Meeting
Monday,June 5,2023
Page 5
City Attorney Tierney suggested the Council give staff parameters related to a
deadline for compliance and encouraged the Council to set a deadline for
compliance. She thought it was fine for the Council to allow staff to have that
discretion, to give the extension, but the Council needs to draw the parameters
around that extension.
Councilmember Strahan asked staff if ten to fourteen days would be a reasonable
amount of time given the time staff has provided thus far, if the property owner
indicated they were willing to come into compliance. She indicated the City has
not seen much progress so far, so she thought if the City had a fairly good idea
within either ten or fourteen day period.
Mr. Englund thought either amount of time would be more than sufficient.
Strahan moved, Schroeder seconded, directing Community Development staff to
abate the referenced public nuisance violations at 2165 Victoria Street N as shown
in the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated June 5, 2023,
staying the enforcement until after a meeting with the property owner on
Wednesday, allowing up to a ten-day grace period.
Roll Call
Ayes: Schroeder, Groff, Strahan, and Roe.
Nays: None.
Recess
Mayor Roe recessed the meeting at approximately 6:46 p.m., and reconvened at approximately
6:51 p.m.
c.
