<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />H.egular meetinS" of the Village Council was held Tuesday, January <br />10, 1956 at 8Ph. <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />ThE~ Village Council met on the above date with the following <br />members present: Salverda, Carlson, Kitts, and HamJnersten. Also <br />present were: Milner Carley, ~ngineer; Frank Leinen, Treasurer; <br />Robert Gearin, attorney. McGee arrived late. <br /> <br />Carlson moved, Salverda seconded the minutes of t.he Dec. 30 <br />meeting be approved as presented. Roll call. Ayes(4)-Nayes(0). <br />JVIcGee absent. <br /> <br />Salverda moved, Hammersten seconded the mimltes of the Jan. 3rd <br />meeting be approved with corrections. Roll call. AyesOd-Nayes(O). <br /> <br />The Roseville Planning Commission submitted the report of their <br />activities for 1955. They included: <br />1. Adopted rules & regulations for Planning Commission. <br />2. Considered 11 petitions for rezoning including tract <br />for State F~. ¡'mtual Ins. Co. Bldg. <br />3. Two plats considered-one was reconilnended for approvel. <br />4. Recon@ended, and as a result the Council appropriated <br />1 mill in the budget for recreation and 1 mill for <br />Village Pla.rming. <br />5. Recommended that Carl Gardner & Associates be hired <br />as Village Planners which was a result of an inves- <br />tigation of a special ha;tors COrt@itte to search for <br />a firm to do this work. Council concured in this <br />recommendation. <br />Han@ersten moved, ~arlson seconded , the report be placed on <br />file. Hall call. Ayes(5)-Nayes(0). <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />The Fïre Dept. <br />officers for 1956. <br />Fire Chief Herb Lynch <br />Ass't. Chief Adolph Ulson <br />Second Ass't Chief Don rtose <br />Sec. Jack Schmidt <br />Tress. Nilt Bahneman <br />Fire harsh. Lawrence Squires <br />Ass't Fire harsh. Edw .~'leglei tner <br />H~~ersten moved, Carlson seconded the 60uncil <br />Dept. in the election of officers for the Fire <br />Roll Call. Ayes(5)-Nayes(0). <br /> <br />concur with the Fire <br />Dept. for 1956. <br /> <br />submitted the results of their election of <br /> <br />The vlerk read a letter from the Mayor of St. Paul relative <br />to legislation pending in the United States Senate which would <br />cause a higher rate for Natural Gas use. This legislation is <br />known as the Fulbright Bill and the Harris Bill. rtammersten <br />moved, Carlson seconded, the é"'.ttorney be authorized to draw up <br />a resolution apposing the Fulbright & Harris Bills, end present <br />it to the Village Council at the next meeting.
