<br />-2- <br /> <br />\ <br />\ <br />The engineer reported that of the fourteen street lights which ~ave been <br />placed by the County over a period of years, thirteen are locatEid on <br />Lexington Ave. and one on Rice St. The County Attorney has rule~ it is <br />illegal for the County to pay for these lights. I. <br />The Village Engineer recommended that the Village take over six ~6) lights <br />on Lexington Ave. which are at intersections of Village streets. \\He also <br />recommended the other seven lights including the one on Rice St. ~d six <br />on Lexington Ave. as listed on the Connty Engineers list should no.t be taken <br />over by the Village. <br />CARLSON MOVED, H.AMM:ERSTEN SECONDED the Council concur in the recommendation <br />of the Engineer. Roll Call Ayes (S)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />At the last meeting a request from the Northwestern Bell TelephonEl Co. to <br />place a buried cable in a portion of Oakcrest Ave. between New Brj\.ghton Rd. <br />and Snelling Ave. He stated the telephone company is aware of the location <br />of the natural gas main and the work they propose will not interfere with <br />any present or future plans of the Village. He recommended the permission <br />be granted. <br />HAMMERSTEN MOVED, I'iCGEE SECONDED the Council concur in the recommendation of <br />the engineer and allow the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. to place the <br />buried cable. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Na;yes (0). <br /> <br />Mr. Hammersten reported that the store that was vacant at the Snelling Hub <br />had been rented so Store 1/ 3 could not move. He therefore suggested the <br />cowncil advertise for bids for a cooler for the Snelling Hub Store. <br />MCGEE MOVED, SALVERDA SECONDED the matter of purchasing a cooler for the <br />Snelling Hub Id.quor Store be held over. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The clerk reported that $20,000 should be transferred from the Liquor Fund <br />to the Fire Protection Fund to pay for the new fire truck. <br />CARLSON MOVED, SALVERDA SECONDED to transfer $20,000 from the Liquor Fund <br />to the Fire Protection Fund. Roll Call Ayes (5)..Nayes (0). <br /> <br />HAMMERSTEN MOVED, CARIS ON SECONDED TO HAVE THE date of approval on the <br />Financial Report changed from January 30, 1956 to February 14, 19S6. <br />Roll Call Ayes (S)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />CARI30N MOVED, MCGEE SECONDED to accept the Financial Report of the Village <br />of Roseville for the year 1955. Roll Call Ayes (S)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Mr. McGee reported that the Research Committee has worked very hard on their <br />investigations in regard to proceedures, records and etc. and a report will <br />be coming to the Council soon. <br /> <br />A date was set for a meeting of the Council, Representatives of Local 49, <br />) the engineer, and members of the maintenance crew to discuss proposals <br />which were submitted by the union.
