<br />-2M <br /> <br />The Mayor of Falcon Heights sent a letter to Roseville Mayor Kitts regarding <br />the possibility of the two fire departments getting together and also other <br />problems that could be discussed at an informal meeting of the two coupcils. <br />Mayor Kitts stated he would check into setting a date for such a discussion. <br /> <br />Building Inspector, Jim Borden, stated in a letter to the Co1}ncil that the <br />necessary inspection have been made on a building that Mrs. Moore, 1780 N. <br />Snelling, wishes to move into Roseville. The building is of reasonably <br />sound construction and the owner agrees to remedy anything that would be <br />required to meet our building code. <br /> <br />Engineer Carley handed the Council his recommendations in regard to the <br />Centennial Terrace Plat. He found the plat conforMS with all the present <br />Village regulations. He pointed out that some time ago the vacating of <br />Asbury St. was 9Pposed by owners of property immediately south of this pro- <br />posed plat. At that time the Council agreed there would be a street right- <br />of-way tl'œough this area. It appears the location of Arone. St. takes care <br />of this problem. <br /> <br />The Engineer presented notices for advertising for bids on Sand,&Gravel <br />Road Oil and Culverts. <br />SALVERDA HOVED, CARLSON SECONDED the clerk be authorized to advertise for <br />bids for these materials with bids to be opened on April 3 at 2 p.m.. <br />Roll Call Ayes (5)-layes (0). <br /> <br />Engineer Carley submitted suggestions as to changing of the Street Construction <br />Ordinance. This need for revision is brought about at this time mainly by <br />the proposed constructian of sewers. In considering this problem, the <br />Council must decide 1Ipon one of several possible methods to carry the Village <br />through that period of time during which permanent improvemen ts will be <br />somewhat distmt'bed. <br />The recommendations of the Engineer were feferred to the Attorney and he <br />will get together with the Engineer. <br /> <br />Mr. Carley reported that a low spot on Beacon St. between R¡rpn Ave. and <br />Shryer Ave. could be taken care of by placing one dry well on one side of the <br />street with a catch basin on the other side and a pipe connecting the two. <br />The estimated cost of the material for these structires would be about $250. <br />which would be taken from the current road & bridge rund. This work is being <br />done now. <br /> <br />The Engineer submitted a revised schedule of prices to be charged the Northern <br />States Power Co. for road repairs necessary because of installation of <br />natural gas mains. The following costs were recommended for 1956. <br />No. 1 - Where it is necessary to re-oil the portion of the street affected <br />by this work' with a dust repellent per foot $0.l5 <br /> <br />No. 2 - Where an oil crust has been formed through repeated oil applications <br />to the roadway and it is necessary to replace this over the trench <br />per foot $9.25 <br /> <br />No.3 - In places where the Power Company replaces plant mix blacktop over <br />their trench and the local forces find that it is necessary to <br />place a seal coat of oil over this paiach per foot ~.10 <br />No.4 - Where is is necessary for the community to replace the standard four <br />inch depth of oil stabilized surface over the trench <br />per foot 0.50 <br /> <br />meeting <br />with <br />Falcon <br />Heights <br /> <br />Moore <br />bldg. <br /> <br />Centennial <br />Terrace <br />Plat <br /> <br />adv. for <br />~ bids <br /> <br />street <br />constr. <br />Ord. <br />
