It was agreed that the need of a cesspool to be <br />pumped was an emergency but the Village has never given special permission <br />to go over posted roads. <br /> <br />Mr. Aschenbach" owner of Midway Trailer Oity at 2S99 N. Lexington, asked <br />that the street light that was ordered to be taken out in front of the <br />trailer park be retained and he wouD be willing to share the cost. <br />MCGEE MOVED" HAMMERSTEN SECONDED the street light between Oakcrest and the <br />N. P. tracks on Lexington be retained and Mr. Aschenbach to share So-SO <br />the expense of maintaining the light. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />A person from the audience asked about taxes. He wanted to lmow when the <br />taxes were going to level off. It was explained when the people want <br />improvements they must pay for them through taxes, and the need of new <br />schools also raised the tax. <br /> <br />Fire Bhief Herb ~ch gave a short report on the Firemen's Convention he <br />attk:Jnded in Memphis, Tenn. The Council also discussed with Mr. Lynch the <br />need of additional equipment for the new fire å1nrck. The clerk and Mr. <br />Lynch will get together to go over the items. <br /> <br />A letter was reE¥i from Governor Freeman complimenting Roseville for holding <br />a Town Meeting on Youth Problems. <br /> <br />A letter was read from the President of Indianhead Truck Lines complimenting <br />the Council on the establishment of a Municipal Court. He also asked if <br />something could be done about the line charge the telephone company is <br />assessing in Roseville for private lines. <br />MCGEE MOVED, CARLSON SECONDED the Mayor look into the situation and report <br />back. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The Engineer submitted his report on the tabulation of the bids on Diesel <br />fu.I1, that were referred to him. He recommended the contract be awaràèd to <br />the lowest bidder, Pure Oil Co. <br />HAMIV.IERSTEN MOVED, SALVERDA SECONDED to concur in the Engineer's report and <br />award the contract on Diesãl fuel to the Pure Oil Co. Roll Call Ayes (S) <br />Nayss (0). <br /> <br />The Land Commissioner sent a letter to the Council advising the Village that <br />they had withheld from sale the tax forfeited land that was requested. <br />It WaS placed on file. <br /> <br />SALVERDA MOVED, CARlSON SECONDED the Village purchase approximately .3 acres <br />of land from Geo. Reiling. He will be paid 16,000 cash and a warrant will <br />be issued for $6,468 due June 1st.
