The prperty in quetion is the entire parcel occupied by the
Rosedale Shopping Cenier bounded by Highway 36, Cunty Road B-2,
Snelling Avenue, and Fairview Avenue. You will recali in about
1y10, that the Dayton - Hudson Company platted the land as "Rosedale
Center First Addition" placing the parcl into three ints. The
attached sketch shows this division with one iot occupied by the
Dayton Store and parking allocated to it, the second lot for the
"Tenant building" and its allocated parking, and Lot 3 for the
second departme,t store.
r
2. Due to the impending addition of the Pennys Department Store, the
Dayton - Hudson people propose at this tim to re-plat the lots
so as to provide a parcel for this building and its allocated
parking.
3. The curret proposal is to devise three lots which are shown on
the attached drawing as dotted lines. In addition there ar fur
outlts lbeled A, B, C, and D. These relate to intrnal adjustments
which will be explained by the Dayton - Hudson People at the hearing
as they relte to the existing and prpsed development plan af
the center.
4. Outlot D was proposed as a potential building site at thE westerly
quadrant of the entrance at Caunty Road B-2 and Snelling Avenue.
We suggested to the applicant that a proposed building site at
this iocation would be of grave concern to the City. This is
based on the very negative reaction on the part of the ity to
a similar proposal for a separate building site for a TBA at the
opposite corner to the southeast rom Outlot D as proposed. The
Dayton - Hudson Compan,y have informed us that they wish Outlat D
a be deleted f rom the plat currently in question. We suggest
this deletion in as much as the creation of a legally constituted
iot is a first significant step toward the establishment of a building
right at a particula lacation on the property.
