City of <br /> RfliSL I ALE <br /> Minnesota,USA <br /> Regular City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> City Hall Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br /> Monday, January 22, 2024 <br /> 1. Roll Call <br /> Mayor Roe called the meeting to order at approximately 6:20 p.m. Voting and Seating <br /> Order: Groff(remote), Strahan,Etten, Schroeder, and Roe. City Manager Patrick Trudgeon <br /> and City Attorney Rachel Tierney were also present. <br /> 2. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Roe noted the passing of a former Councilmember last fall and thought it was <br /> important to recognize this person for their long service to the community and acknowledge <br /> their passing. Pat Johnson-Nygaard was a City Council member in the early 2000's and <br /> served on the Planning Commission prior to that and was involved in other ways by <br /> volunteering in the community. He also noted that Ms. Johnson-Nygaard had significant <br /> involvement in the Park and Recreation program, especially financial support for the <br /> program in the form of hard and long work on the Central Park Foundation, including some <br /> time as president of the Foundation. He noted Ms. Johnson-Nygaard was 88 years old and <br /> was a long-time resident of the community and certainly served the community in a number <br /> of ways during her time here, as well as after, as an advocate. The City wished condolences <br /> to her friends and family and hoped that her memory can be a blessing to all. <br /> 3. Approve Agenda <br /> Schroeder moved, Etten seconded, approval of the agenda as present. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Groff, Strahan, Etten, Schroeder, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 4. Public Comment <br /> Mayor Roe called for public comment by members of the audience on any non-agenda <br /> items. No one came forward. <br /> 5. Recognitions, Donations, and Communications <br /> a. Meet Ashes, Fire Department K9 Therapy Program and Receive Donation <br /> from Hugh and Julie Thibodeau <br /> Fire Chief Brosnahan and Assistant Fire Chief Neil Sjostrom were at the meeting <br /> to introduce K9 Ashes and thank Hugh and Julie Thibodeau for their donation and <br /> support of the Fire Department Therapy Program. <br /> Assistant Fire Chief Sjostrom described the Therapy Program and Ashes' training. <br />
