Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,January 22,2024 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Councilmember Etten asked what breed is Ashes. <br /> Assistant Fire Chief Sjostrom indicated Ashes is a silver lab and came from a <br /> breeder in North Dakota. <br /> Councilmember Etten asked if Assistant Fire Chief Sjostrom was Ashes main <br /> contact and does she go home with him. <br /> Assistant Fire Chief Sjostrom explained Ashes does go home with him and goes to <br /> the Fire Department Monday through Friday which allows Ashes to be exposed to <br /> all of the shifts. He explained that long term,once she gets through her certification <br /> and gets more confidence in herself, she will be able to spend the night at the fire <br /> house. <br /> Chief Brosnahan noted a significant contribution for Ashes came from the <br /> Thibodeaus who have supported K9 programs, AED purchases, and health and <br /> wellness initiatives. He reviewed how he found the donations for Ashes and <br /> explained the program to the Thibodeaus who were enthusiastic about is. He <br /> indicated Hugh and Julie Thibodeau are great stewards of the City of Roseville and <br /> the Fire Department wanted to publicly thank them for everything given to the Fire <br /> Department and City in general. <br /> Mrs. Julie Thibodeau was at the meeting. Chief Brosnahan and the City Council <br /> thanked her for their generosity to the City. <br /> The City Council took a photo with Ashes and Mrs. Thibodeau. <br /> Mayor Roe again thanked Mr. and Mrs. Thibodeau for their contributions. <br /> 6. Items Removed from Consent Agenda <br /> Recess <br /> Mayor Roe recessed the meeting at approximately 6:35 p.m., and reconvened at approximately <br /> 6:40 p.m. <br /> 7. Business Items <br /> a. Discuss Scope and Duties with Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission <br /> Assistant City Manager Rebecca Olson briefly highlighted this item as detailed in <br /> the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated January 22, 2024. <br /> HRIEC Commissioners present were: Vice-Chair Becker, Commissioners <br /> Macomber, Francke, and Tidball. <br />
