W� have madE befoYe and after checlrs of th� actual apeed and <br />find that there have been no signi�Eicant changes in the actual speeds. <br />Efforts to enforce the previous 50 MPH vrare app3xently unsuccessful as <br />aur beiore checks indicated al�aosL one-half of the dzivers were ex�ceeding <br />the speed lianit. <br />ACCIDENTS� Y7e checked accidents foz 5 years (1965-1969) and found an <br />average c�f 8 accidents per year at Lydia end T.N. 5I and 7 accidents pe� <br />year at Hanline and T.H. 5I. For compa�ison, County Road C and T.H. 51 <br />has averaged lb accidenxs per year for these S years. A detailed stus3y <br />of I969 accidents at County Road C showed that there were more persor,al <br />injury accidents at County Road C than at either Lydi� or Hamline. <br />T�ZAFFIC V4LUN:�Se Roth manual and machine counts were ffiade at L.ydia Avenue <br />and ai Hamline Avenue. ?he counts zevea,led increases in trafffe at both� <br />but that most traffic makes a �cight turn to go south.
