ri <br />DIVISION 2 <br />SITE WORK <br />02200 - EARTHWORK <br />1. <br />GENERAL <br />A. <br />The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and <br />perform all work and services necessary for or incidental to the <br />furnishing and installation complete of all operations in connection with <br />earthwork in accordance with provisions of the Contract Documents, and <br />completely coordinated with that of all other trades. <br />B. <br />Although such work is not specifically shown or specified, all supple- <br />mentary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances, and devices incidental to <br />or necessary for a sound, secure and complete, and compatible installation <br />shall be furnished and installed as part of this work. <br />C. <br />Work required under this section includes, but is not limited to the <br />following: <br />1. Stripping and stockpiling of topsoil <br />2. Excavation and embankments <br />3. Backfilling <br />4. Compacted fill <br />5. Bracing, Shoring and Underpinning <br />6. Rough grading on site <br />7. Finish grading and topsoil <br />8. Staking line and grade <br />D. Excavation and backfilling for trades: Excavation and backfilling for <br />plumbing, heating, ventilating, electrical and other mechanical work shall <br />be done by the respective contractors except where specified to be done by <br />this contractor. All backfilling shall be placed as specified for under <br />slab fill for interior work and for rough grading for exterior work. <br />F. Existing utility and drainage lines shall be marked for position and <br />adequately protected. Active lines encountered during excavation shall be <br />shut off at the service main after permission to do so has been obtained <br />from the Architect, the Municipality, and/or Utility Company involved. <br />G. This Contractor shall examine all local conditions at the site and shall <br />assume responsibility as to the grades, contours, and the character of the <br />earth, existing conditions, and other items which may be encountered <br />5264 <br />SECTION 02200 - 1 <br />
