DIVISION 2 <br />SITE WORK <br />02100 - CLEARING OF SITE <br />1. Before beginning excavation, the Contractor shall consult with the <br />utility companies, city and county records to fully inform himself of <br />the location and extent of utilities in the site and surrounding area. <br />2. Comply with rules and regulations governing respective utilities. <br />Protect active J lities from damage. Remove and relocate only as <br />directed. <br />3. CLEARING AND GRUBBING I <br />A. Removal of trees, stumps, brush and vegetation. <br />1•. Clearing Operations: The clearing operations shall consist of cutting S <br />and removing the trees, shrubs, bushes, windfalls and other vegetation <br />in the designated areas. In conjunction there with, the Contractor <br />shall remove as directed any low hanging, unsound, or unsightly <br />branches on the trees designated to remain under supervision of the <br />Architect. <br />2. Grubbing Operations: The grubbing operations shall consist of <br />removing and disposing of the stumps, roots and other remains in the <br />construction area. Unless otherwise permitted, stumps shall be <br />removed completely. Except in areas to"be excavated, all depressions <br />resulting from the grubbing operations shall be backf led with <br />suitable material and compacted to the satisfaction of the Architect. <br />3. Disposal Operations: All timber, stumps, roots and other debris or by <br />products resulting form the clearing and grubbing operations shall be <br />disposed of by the Contractor. All elmwood timber, stumps, roots and <br />debris, together with bark and any by products with adhering bark of <br />elm tree origin, shall either be completely debarked or chemically <br />treated before being removed from the property.
