1 <br />DIVISION 2 <br />SITE WORK <br />02901 - PLANTING SOIL, SODDING &LANDSCAPING <br />8. <br />PLANTING STOCK MAINTENANCE <br />A. <br />The <br />Contractor shallbe required to make periodic checks on the total <br />project to make certain that the materials are properly watered, <br />cultivated, pruned, and that all guys and stakes are in proper adjustment, <br />and that the sum of all conditions are contributingto the satisfactory y <br />progress of the materials, until such time as the work is approved by the <br />Architect and accepted by the Owner. <br />B. <br />Inspection of this work will be made by the Architect at the conclusion of <br />the planting period upon written notict by the Contractor at least five <br />days prior to anticipated date. Condition of shrubs and trees will be <br />noted and recorded for reference at end of guaranty period. <br />C. <br />After inspection, the Contractor will be notified in writing by the <br />Architect if there are any deficiencies of'the <br />requirements for acceptance <br />of work. <br />9. <br />PLANTING STOCK GUARANTEE AND REPLACEMENT <br />A. <br />Plants and trees shall be guaranteed for one complete growing season after <br />final acceptance, and shall be ajivQ and in satisfactory condition at the <br />end of the <br />guaranty period. <br />B . <br />At the end of the guaranty period an inspection will be made by the <br />Architect. Any plant required under this contract that is dead or not in <br />satisfactory growth shall be removed from the site; these and any plants <br />missing due to the Contractor's negligence, shall be replaced as soon as <br />conditions permit, but during the normal planting season. In case of any <br />questions regarding the condition and satisfactory establishment of a <br />rejected plant, the Contractor may elect to allow such plant to remain <br />through another complete growing season at which time the rejected plant, <br />if found to be dead, or in an unhealthy or badly impaired condition, shall <br />be replaced. <br />C. All replacements shall be plants of the same kind and size as specified in <br />the plant list. They shall be furnished and placed as specified under new <br />planting; the cost shall be borne by the Contractor except for replacement <br />resulting from removal, loss or damage due to vandalism or acts of neglect <br />on the part of others, during the guaranty period after acceptance. <br />10. RIVER ROCK <br />A. Furnish and install, where indicated, a minimum of 4" of river rock in all <br />areas so designated and/or schedule' on the drawings. <br />5264 SECTION 02901 - 9 <br />
