1 <br />DIVISION 4 <br />MASONRY <br />04220 - MASONRY WORK <br />1. <br />GENERAL <br />iA. <br />The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and <br />perform all work and services necessary for or incidental to the <br />furnishing and installation, complete, of all masonry construction as <br />shown on drawings and as specified, in accordance with provisions of the <br />Contract Documents and completely coordinated with work of all other <br />trades. <br />B. <br />Although such work is not specifically shown or specified, furnish and <br />install all supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and <br />' <br />devices incidental to or necessary for a sound, secure and complete <br />installation. <br />C. <br />Related items specified elsewhere: <br />1. Section 05500 - Miscellaneous Metals <br />2. Section 07900 - Caulking <br />3. Section 09900 - Painting <br />2. <br />SAMPLES <br />' <br />A. <br />Prior to installation of masonry work, for Architect/Owner approvil, <br />submit sample panel mock-up using materials, bond and joint tooling as <br />specified for final wor . <br />1. Panel shall be a minimum size of 24" x 16". <br />2. Architect will retain mock-ups during construction as a standard for <br />judging completed work. <br />3. <br />MATERIALS <br />A. <br />Face Brick: Norwegian Brick 3-1/2 x 2-13/16 x 11-5/8" Rutic Gold, <br />available through Minnesota Brick & Tile, Minneapolis, Minnesota. <br />B. <br />Common Brick - shall meet the requirements of the ASTM C69 latest edition, <br />modular size. Grade MW. Use for concealed wall filler. <br />C. <br />Concrete Masonry Units: Modular units ASTM C90 Type 1 of size and shapes <br />indicated on drawings are required for conditions. Aggregates conforming <br />to ASTM C-33 for standard weight block, aggregates conforming to ASTM C- <br />131 for light weight block. All block are standard weight unless light <br />weight are called for on plan. <br />1. Fire resistance block shall have a minimum 1-3/4" shell face, 1-1/4" <br />web, 64% solid for lightweight construction for an 8" thick, 2 hour <br />' <br />rated wall, and 2-1/2" shell face, 1-1/2" web, 77% solid for 3 hour <br />rating. <br />1 <br />5264 <br />SECTION 04220 - <br />1 <br />
