DIVISION 4 <br />MASONRY <br />04220 - MASONRY WORK <br />D. Joint Reinforcement: Prefabricated welded wire units in minimum 10' <br />straight lengths, with matching corner and tee units. Fabricate from cold <br />drawn steel wire, with deformed No. 9 ga. continuous cross or truss <br />rods. Units approximately 1-1/2" less in width than total wall <br />thickness. Approved manufacturer's Dur-O-Wall AA Wire Products, Hohmann & <br />Bernard, or Lox -All Products. <br />1. Provide units galvanized per ASTM A116 for use in all exterior and <br />interior walls; and all walls above grade and in walls below grade <br />acting as retaining walls. <br />E. Mortar: Comply with ASTM C270, Type M below grade, Type S for all above <br />grade locations. Mortar to be standard mortar color. <br />F. Anchor and Ties (for wood stud/brick veneer walls) Brick wall ties: <br />Corrugated wall ties, 16 ga. galvanized sheet steel 7/8" wide, 7" long, <br />punched for nailing. Nail to stud at 24" o.c. vertically and 16" o.c. <br />horizontally. <br />G. Weep Holes: 3/8" cotton rope wicks minimum spacing 24" o.c. <br />H. Flashing Reglets: Provide in brick and block walls where indicated on <br />drawings, or as required, to flash roofing or metal into an adjoining <br />vertical surface. Fill'and point up reglet after flashing installation. <br />Leave suitable raked joint for finish caulking by others as specified <br />under Section 07900 - Caulking and Sealants. <br />I. Concealed Flashing: 20 mil polyvinyl chloride; Nervastral "Seal-Pruf HO" <br />or equivalent material as manufactured by B.F. Goodrich, York <br />Manufacturing, or Sonneborn Contech. <br />J. Control Joint Gasket: Our-O-Wal regular rapid control joints, Williams, <br />AA wire or approved. <br />K. Expansion and control joint filler and caulking is specified under Section <br />07900 - Caulking. <br />4. STORAGE OF MATERIALS <br />A. Cementitious materials shall be stored under cover in a dry place. <br />B. Keep blocks under cover and dry at all times. Store units off ground on <br />wood platforms and keep free of dirt, stains, frost, snow and other <br />foreign matter. Lay only clean and dry units. Do not lay chipped or <br />damaged units where exposed.
